Apocolocyntosis asked me about some old Epic pics in an old White Dwarf. I still remember those pics and have the issue. It's like around WD 116 ? The top vehicle was kitbashed, I figured using a GHQ Russian model by looking at the tracks ? Or USMC LVTP-5 ? With the original metal Titan Las-cannon.

The bottom pic is of the original metal Rhino using a weapon from GW's old OOP Mad Max type game - Dark Future. It was like 10-15mm. After searching thru the GHQ site. I was pretty sure the top vehicle was a GHQ ACRV Russian Artillery Support Vehicle. Shown below ... Now that I think of it ... That maybe a Russian ACRV, but in 10mm ? Based on the size of the Las-cannon and hull/chassis. Well I'm pretty sure I ID'd the Vehicle ... not sure of who makes a 10mm version. Or even if it is 10mm ? May be 6mm GHQ ? So if you wanted to try to make you own very OOP old school Epic AFV ...

6mm is probably too small, if anyone knows a ~10mm producer of w54/Ml974/MT-LBu s lemme know! (can't find any …)

Check Pendraken Minis, may not do that specific tank but do have a selection of WW2 to modern stuff in 10mm.

you may find something worthwhile.

Glad to help ! The tracks/road wheels was my first clue it might be Russian ... But yes Pendraken does make 10mm. And here's what an LVTP-5 looks like, but after a quick glance ... I knew it was Russkie !

Sure it's the soviet vehicle in 10mm and not the GHQ model. I have quite a few GHQ models I could check the size for you if you want. The GHQ model is much better detailed than the model in that old pic.

Probably from the old Skytrex Action 1/200 range. This is being redone I believe.

Minifigs also do a 1/200 range. There are also some 1/144 Japanese based pladtics

thanks all, had a check around but none of the 10mm ranges i've found (nice list on cold war commander site in addition to those mentioned here) appear do that hull. Closest I can get is MT-LB which is too sort with different front hull shape and too few road wheels!

Yes, the GHQ model would be too small ... now that we establish the scale. And the converted model in the pic has much less detail than the GHQ. I have yet to fine a 10mm version of the USSR vehicle used by GW about 25 years ago ... Maybe on eBay ?

Yeah that was the plan, I was thinking that if the main part of the model was off the shelf I might as well make a formation. Plenty of spare warhound weapons about and an easy conversion. That's now looking a bit more challenging, didn't see any on ebay either.

Yes, the shampoo-tank is one of a number of things im considering doing as add ons for the army, need to get everything based up for the campaign weekend firs though.

I personally think we should do the ultimate old school rogue trader marine vehicle and make an orgys flyer.
(For those not old enough to remember, Marines had an ornithoper scouting vehicle for the first couple years of 40k)
