Hi all, as most of you know, I've just started a modelmaking and SFX uni course, so as I finish projects and designs I'll use this thread to show you some- as I think at least a few of them will be of interest to you all...  :;):

First up is an architectural model we have been working on in a group; it shows the area around Sir Norman Foster's new Gherkin building (the Swiss Re Headquarters) in London...

The site of the Gherkin has been cut out, and for the second stage of the project we will individually be designing a more detailed model of an alternative skyscraper to fill it- I can't wait!

This model is made entirely in blue foam, cut on a bandsaw and then sanded, painted and sanded again, before being stuck down to a painted MDF base.

Stormy, I am very impressed! You certainly have captured the feel of London.

Separate the buidlings a little and it would make great epic scenery! :D

Lastly... a view down a street!

The whole model is built at 1:500 scale, so it is a bit fine for Epic! (which is somewhere in the region of 1:275 isn't it?)

Cheers, ~G

Regardless of the actual scale, the buildings look about the size of epic buildings.

Looks great Storm. If I were you I'd sneak the board with me home for a few games of Epic :;):

Cheers! :)

Just make sure you take the gun turrets of your skyscrapper before handing it in.....

"So what are these?"
"Oh they are to shoot down any Ork Landas that try to capture the building"

wouldn't go down to well. I suspect.

Nice work Stormy, can't wait to see what you put in the Gherkins place (it's not my favourite building).
