stormseer - you were in Sheffield and didn't mention it? Damn

Which Chris, btw?

Chris was curator of De'Aynes until last year when I took over...
Sorry I didn't post about it earlier, but I had very little time to look around (although I did get to the important place as you can see :;): ) -it would have been nice to have a root through the trays of old plastic minis and get a better look at the secondhand Necro stuff... maybe next time!  :;):

Lovely "Axes" FM. :;):
The Blood Axes are really one of those Ork armys you see way to rarely. A shame really as they offer a bunch of really fun conversion possibilities.

Cheers! :)

Hi,

Thanks guys. I tried to spend a bit extra time on these than any I've done before and I'm pleased with how they turned out. Unfortunately I don't have too many old Imperial vehicles to make into Blood Axe Blitz Brigades, so the BA section of my force is going to have to be built from Stormboyz and Kommandos instead. I could use some Rhinos, but I am planning to use them for the Dethskull Warband, AKA Lootas!

Next thing is to clean up the Speed Freek's infantry into an Evil Sunz Warband. Not much to do there but mend some broken stands and clean up a few details. Then I'm planning to *ahem* "pimp" out some FW Battlewagons out for them. Big fat exhausts and go-fasta stripes. :D

Cheers,
Freshmetal

Dat's da way ta go! And good looking start for your blood axes.

I have been thinking about making a Blood Axe warband for a long time. The old one from SM2 with rhinos and all. I always liked their old fluff; how the Blood Axes were the largest clan of them all but then started to get ideas above their head and the other clans united and trashed them in a war called "Da big Party".

Great Blood Axes. I will definately put one of those together as soon as some kind of official army list is released. The concept of looted and converted vehicles is just too tempting.

Based on SM1 & 2 fluff, both my Blood Axes and Snake Bitz have "looted" Humie equipment ! :;):

LOL! :D  You're nuts V! :;):  I really like the paint scheme. It really looks like some sort of weird rusty concrete/metal type material.

Cheers! :)

I got my Forge World order today. There was a minor problem with a few missing bitz but the Trolls were quick to offer replacements. I must say that this is probably the best bunch of FW stuff I've recieved to date. I've often recieved stuff from VERY worn moulds but these models were all crisp and clear as if from brand new moulds! Even the Shadowswords didn't have the problems at the rear end and sponsons which I usually have experienced.

Today I've been assembeling a bunch of Falcons, the Shadowswords (who also got a black spray undercoat ready to join the Cadian regiment) and a couple of FW buildings. I then continued on the cityfight piece which has been at a standstill for a while. I think it is coming along nicely with the buildings, ruins, sewage pipes and ladders and a bombed bridge with a Chimera halfway submerged in the city canals. I'll probably be posting a few pics in a couple of days.

Cheers! :)

Hi,

I've been throwing around a few ideas for pimping-out my Evil Sunz Battlewagons today, with the following results...

BLING!

I've mangled a spare FW Battlewagon and fitted a skull from one of the old-skool SM2-era Battlewagons (to make the far right one in the picture) and it's not looking too bad, it just needs a bit of GS work to fill some gaps.

I'll sort out some suitable pipes and materials to build the rest this weekend.

Cheers,
Freshmetal
