Hello Guys, When me and the wife moved out to California at the beginning of the 2003 I was hit wilth a bit of news. ?I'm was going to be a dad. ? ![]() After some time, when the shock and awe settled down, I looked upon my unpacked boxes of minis and realized they where now homeless. ?The spare room was now the baby's room. ?I did what any self-respecting gamer would do... "I call dibs on the garage!" ? ![]() But before the garage could become a place where epic battles where fought and the lives of billions of miniature lives hung in the balance it needed an ovehaul. So my first project of the year became making a suitable home for the minis and a place to play. ?Lets not forget lots and lots of storgae and shelf space. ? Well here are the pics... If this doesn't work ?please let me know it's my first venture into the yahoo folders thing. ? Just to be sure I have to make the folders public so you guys could see them right? Gamer's Garage |

I see the pics all right. You seem to have a respectable amount of stuff judging from the amount of boxes. But where do you need three (3rd edition ?) "Third Reich" boardgames? For the record: I hope to have something similar after my summer holiday. I'm planning to build our attic into a habitable environment. |

The Third Reich games have an interetsing story. I went to the Air Force Academy and I'm a Military history mahor. One of the head instructors in the history department was an avid wargamer. He ran some classes where games where part of the course. Fun stuff! In his WWII class he used Third Riech as a tool to demonstrate the strategic challeges the Allies and the Germans faced. Some people like loved gaming and others hated it. So when the class was over many people where throwing away copies of the game. I picked up like five of them. Our opponents hated the game...of course We did defeat France, conqured the Middle East, and invaded England, all while the Russian players just stood there. ![]() I had the best Italian partner a German could ask for. He took the Suez without any help from Germans! |

I played the "1944" scenario in Third Reich and I think I didn't understand the rules correctly. The attacker always seemed to have so great a disadvantage that going was REALLY slow. Allies tried to invade normandy for two years before finally getting a toehold in the continent in 1946. Finns conquered Leningrad in 1944 after repulsing a Soviet offensive with heavy losses to Uncle Sunshine. Soviets were unable to advance at all despite repeated assaults; the Germans were in fact winning the war of attrition in the eastern front!!! We stopped the game by the end of 1946 as everybody became bored. ![]() |

Hi! Thats a great HBO movie. Basically after the fiasco of D-day, the germans dropped an A-bomb on london and the english surrendered. The war in russia continues without abate for the last 20 years! Primarch |

Hi! Others will correct me but I think the germans dont nuke the russians becuase of the worries of a nuclear exchange with the US. Its a cold war world with the US and greater germany on either side. Primarch |
