Hiya folks,
I have sneaked into work early this morning to start writing this special Christmas edition of the Forge World newsletter before Dean can try to usurp my position once again.

In my last oh so popular newsletter, I did say that we should be able to show off a whole host of new models and you guys are in for a rare old treat today. I believe at Forge World we do make some damnably good looking models, but some of what you are about to see are, it think, right up there with the greatest models made to date. This is of course my own un-humble, completely biased opinion, but it is the one I tend to agree with.

Model time! http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/ethun.htm Here we have another of our models after it has been ?de-bigualted? by our patented ?Re-size-a-graph? machine. Will Hayes has made us a beautiful little Epic Thunderbolt to complement the other Imperial Navy models we already have. Amazingly, the Epic Thunderbolt is detailed to the same level as it?s bigger brother in 40K and gives us a model I just want to run around the office going ?Whoosh!? and ?Dakka! Dakka!? (Do you know that is the official Forge World test of a good model aircraft? Seriously!)
Space Marine commanders out there might well have cause to get a little excited about now. Why? How about eight new Space Marine models made by Will? We have three new Razorbacks available as both complete kits or as conversion kits. You have a choice of arming your Razorbacks with either Twin-linked Heavy Bolters http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/heavybrazor.htm, Twin-linked Lascannons http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/lascrazor.htm or a Multi-Melta http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/multimrazor.htm. (Yes, we do know there is another Razorback turret we haven?t done yet, so please don?t email us asking about it.)
These great little automated weapon systems also lend themselves to point defense quite nicely. All that is required is the addition of a suitable ground mount and, hey presto, three shiny new Tarantulas. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/lasctaran.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/heavybtaran.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/multimtaran.htm
Having secured the perimeter of their forward positions, Space Marine commanders might want to give their loyal brethren some anti-air cover. The Whirlwind Hyperios provides this invaluable protection to mobile forces, but an immobile defensive position would benefit more from a static weapon system, but with the same firepower. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/hyptaran.htm The Hyperios Air Defense Platform does just that. But there?s more? The best way to destroy a target is to shoot it. Of course if you want to be sure of destroying it you can either shoot more accurately or shoot more at it. Why not do both? http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/comtaran.htm The Air Defense Control Platform allows the networking of several Hyperios platforms to create a deadly web of air defenses and protect the loyal battle brothers of the Adeptus Astartes from the foul alien hordes.
In our last newsletter I mentioned some new additions to the very popular Forge World range of Daemonhunter models. Well take a look at these photos folks, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gkdread.htm What we have here is a MkIV Psycannon arm and Dreadnought Close Combat weapon for the MkIV Grey Knights Dreadnought. You may also note that the Dreadnought is standing on a new scenic Dreadnought base. Well that is actually one of three new bases we?re releasing. We?ve made one for the regular Space Marine Dreadnought, one for the MkIV and one for the foul twisted Chaos Dreadnought too. Have a look at them all here, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/spacemarinedb.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/spacemarinemkivdb.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/chaosdb.htm
Ever since we released the first of our 40K Titans, whole hosts of you have been asking us to make separate crew figures, just because they look so damned good. Well here they are. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/titancrew.htm The set includes two Moderati and a Princeps sculpted by the fiendishly talented Simon Egan. Try to remember when you are looking at these pictures that the actual models are only 30mm tall!
If you think those are good, take a look at this. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/amtp.htm I think that this Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-priest is the best 40K scale model Simon Egan has ever sculpted for Forge World, until of course he makes another one! His work just keeps getting better and better. Will finished it off perfectly with the addition of the augmentic arms, axe and Servo Skull.
Simon has also made us a lovely new Commissar bust, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/commtankcomm.htm Well, actually he hasn?t. Just to put it into perspective, that model is a regular 40K scale Commissar Tank Commander which stands only 20mm tall. I really give up; putting paint onto models like this and the Tech-priest may just spoil them! I suppose I?ll have to improve my painting again, because there is no way I?m not  having these models in my collection.

Every last one of these models is available to pre-order now on the Forge World online store at http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html for release on the 26th of January. Please note that pre-orders are not charged until we prepare to send the order out to you, just before the release date.

All that remains for me to say in this newsletter is a big ?Thank you!? to all our customers around the world for a fun and exciting year. We very much enjoyed meeting so many of you at the various Games Days and events that we went to and look forward to seeing what beautiful new models we can share with you next year. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/xmas03.htm
Thx,

Ewen Little,
Forge World.

WOW! That Tech Priest is AMAZING!!!

Some very nice stuff indeed (but hey, it's christmas). I wonder how big those epic thunderbolts are??? Bigger than the metal version? As big as the Lightning (I hope not)??

Cheers!

I'd say that they are relatively the same size as the lightning. It fits the FW style of scaling & the fact that they carry the same price tag (2 for ?10) is also a good hint.

To my mind, that can only bee a good thing though - I really like the larger planes and will save my ?? for them wherever I can.

:o ?...That tech-priest really is stunning! I rather like the Titan crew too, and the Thunderbolts of course, I hate the out-of-scale metal versions...
I'd like to know where my Eldar superheavies, Fireprisms & Vypers are though... ?:;): ?hehe

I really like that Thunderbolt! That has to be the best Imperial Navy flier yet! I will have to get one of those. Also, I must admit that the Razorback is much better than I originally thought. If the turrets are suitably large and impressive, then the Epic versions should be good. However, if the turrets are any smaller in scale, they  just look like a pea on a drum!

The T-bolt is a nice model -no doubt about it - but I'm not sure I'm too happy with it being as big as the Lightning... Admitted: the metal version is on the small side but I allways imagined the T-bolt like an old Me 109 which was an absolutely tiny aircraft! ...I guess my problem just boils down to the fact that if Flyrers are allowed to grow too bit they will leave my beloved Titans looking less grand :p ("Change? We fear change...":;): )

Inspired by some of the illustrations in Adeptus Titanicus I'm seriously considering making a diorama with the Tech Priest and a scratch built head of a Warlord titan beinng blessed at the titan Repair bay or something... That model is just sooooo cool!

Cheers!  :)

Yes, the scale and continuing growth of aircraft as well as many other things is a little disconcerting.  I have the SM2, E40K and F/W aircraft and they do look good but the size difference is obvious.  Oh well ...  :L  But compare the Me 109, P-47 etc., etc. and there are many different sizes, regardless.  And with the introduction of aircraft, Titans just become even "tastier" targets !  :o

The slow growth of epic scale minis are all part of GW's master plan to make epic a 10mm scale game.....

Interesting theory... ??? ?

It also looks like they will probably be releasing their Razorbacks and Tarantulas in Epic scale with 3 different weapons types. Cool !!! ?

I wonder what G/W is going to do? 3 versions or 1 or... who knows!? ???

Hi!

Its funny how they release tanks and APC's with many weapons configurations and yet desire to narrow the amount of rules for said weapons.

Just a thought....

The Princeps actually has about as lovable expression as I usually have.
