Enjoy! --------- It?s Newsletter Time! I have ousted the upstart Ewen and retaken the coveted position of Newsletter writer. I stole it from him perfectly legitimately in the first place and he?s not allowed to take it back! So what have we got to show you? Lot?s of things to be honest, but you?ll have to wait until I?ve made some important announcements. Forge World will be attending Scale Modelworld 2003 show in Telford this weekend. http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ipmsu ... /index.htm We will have a nice selection of models with us for sale and a good sized display too. This is a great model show and well worth a visit, I?m certainly looking forward to it. The IPMS Painting Competition is one of the best in the world and attracts model painters from 1000?s of miles away to show their kits. Forge World and Games Workshop models can be entered into the competition for IPMS members. If there is anything you would particularly like us to bring for you, feel free to email or phone us, however please contact us by Thursday evening as we will be leaving to set up the show on Friday morning! It?s probably worth reiterating the Christmas ordering details from the last Newsletter. If you place a mail order for Christmas to be sent to the USA, Canada, Australia or anywhere else outside of Europe, we have to have received it by December 1st. If we are to ship to an address in Europe we need to have received it by December 8th, If we are shipping to a UK address then we need the order here by December 15th. These orders should then arrive one or two days before Christmas. If you want your order to arrive before this please place your order well before the dates shown above or ask about our EXPRESS DELIVERY service. If you do leave it too late we can still try to help. Our EXPRESS DELIVERY service should still get your order to you for Christmas as long as you get it to us by December 15th. The Tau BFG ships shown over the last couple of Newsletters are possibly some of the most popular and most talked about models for some time. Pre-orders have been flooding in for them since we first showed them. However, it doesn?t end there, we?ve got more for you! We have some more Tau BFG models for this Newsletter including an Air Caste Orbital City and a Tau Security Orbital. The Orbital City can be seen here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/taulargestation.htm This is a beautiful model that would work well as an objective in any game regardless of whether the Tau are involved or not. The Security Orbital can be seen here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/tausmallstation.htm but that?s not all we have. We also have the much needed Tau Ordnance. These small but wonderfully formed models can be seen here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/tauord.htm No self-respecting Tau fleet would ever fly without it?s supporting compliment of Manta Missile Destroyers and space variant Barracuda fighters. Since we showed the first Tau BFG ships we?ve had lots of e-mails and phone calls enquiring about rules and background for these models and how they relate to the metal Tau models recently released in the Specialist Games range. The answer is we?re still working on specific background and rules for the Forge World models and we hope the get something available as a download on the Forge World web-site soon. For the time being you can of course use the models in games of BFG by using the rules for the nearest equivalent Specialist Games metal ship. Here?s what we?d recommend: Emissary counts as Merchant Class Warden counts as Orca Class Orbital City counts as an Orbital with 1 Core module 8 Habitat modules 3 Manufacturing modules 2 Railgun batteries 120 pts Security Orbital counts as an Orbital with 1 Core module 3 Railgun batteries 3 Ion cannon batteries 1 Launchbay 110 pts The Mantas & Barracudas are of course also covered in these rules. And as we are on the subject of Tau rules, Warwick was so impressed by the Tau Drone Turrets from last Newsletter that he devoted some of his own time to writing some experimental rules for them. These rules are available to download here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm For Warhammer fans we have a new piece of scenery to add to your collection. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/woodenbridge.htm A Wooden Bridge to add character to your stretches of river. Bridges can add a lot to a game, especially if made a focal point to a battle and often lead to hard fought combats for possession. This model would also be a great objective in a Warhammer Skirmish or Mordheim : Empire In Flames scenario. For those Space Marine players who like a bit of variety in their armies, we have an alternative Predator, the MkIVc. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/predator.htm This kit includes both replacement sponsons and the new main turret to give a heavier looking and more purposeful looking tank. Now we have a biggy for you. A little while ago we showed some work in progress pics of the 40K Tau Orca Drop Ship. This impressive model has now been finished and we can finally show you some pictures of an assembled one. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/orca.htm will show you the Orca in all it?s glory. The Orca comes with 24 seated Fire Warriors, 8 Drones and 6 Battlesuits as shown in the interior shots of the Orca. As you can see this is a highly detailed model and will allow a painter to really go to town. Yes, it is very big, and yes, it does weigh more than a Thunderhawk! I?ve just been interrupted in my writing and told that the Orca experimental rules are available to download off our website. They can be found here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm Most of these models are now available to pre-order on our on-line store http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html The Predator will be available to pre-order in the next few days. Which brings us to the end of our Newsletter I?m afraid, but don?t worry, it shouldn?t be too long until our next one as we have some very busy sculptors working downstairs in the cave. Until next time, Dean Winson Forge World PS. Check this out! http://cn.games-workshop.com/news....ome.htm Alerted by a sudden increase in Valkyries and Vultures being sent out to Canadian staff we decided to investigate what was going on. Our investigations led us here, if you?ve not seen it already it?s worth reading about the different armies. |

Our investigations led us here, if you’ve not seen it already it’s worth reading about the different armies. Man. I need a job that does stuff like that. "Take all the product you want, and if you put it to good use, we'll let you keep it." Dang. |

I'm actually not that bothered by the Tau Lander, although I do like all the interior detail. The Tau Orbital stations are great. And you know, you could use those Tau Orbitals as Epic scale models ?! |

Well the Tau Orbitals look big enough to be Tau Buildings or even Dropships ? ? Just a thought, but with all the other Epic stuff coming out (in the future), and all the Epic I still have unfinished ... I don't need any other projects ! ? ![]() ![]() |
