Has anyone build a Voss-style prow for armageddon sector cruisers?
A how-to guide would be very cool.
If anyone has such a prow, i know someone who can make a mould from it so that it can be easily reproduced.

Alas, since the old SG BFG forum is gone the building guide is gone:

Chubbybob has made some and has a guide on his site... but he's also one of the lucky few who got some of those original Voss LC.

GW sold this LC? I thougt the mould broke (or themodel itself was too fragile to be cast right)and they were never produced except some showcase-models?

This is true... and the showcase models went to a few of the 'inner circle'. ChubbyBob got one, Nate got another. They are rarer than hens teeth, but they are out there.

If only somebody had the metal prow and could cast it up using resin moulds. Cheers

I think that would be an infringement of the intellectual property rules - even if it isn't actively being sold at the moment. I don't know much in that area though so I could be wrong.
I can't understand why SG don't hand the design over to Forgeworld though. I'm sure that with some modifications it would be workable.

On a Forge World related note...
Weren't they going to be doing "Mars Pattern" ships at one point or am I just confused... well more confused than normal anyways.
I distinctly remember seeing the greens for them somewhere. Anyone have any idea what happened with/to them?

Jimbo has pics of the Mars ships taken at Games day. Check out his site.
As for the whole IP mess: I believe recasting a piece -currently available or not- is copyright infringement. Even if you build an exact replica from scratch and cast that you might get into trouble if you start to sell them for profit. I'm not sure exactly how much a piece can resemble something before you start getting into trouble. Technically speaking it should be allright to build and cast something which can be used as a BFG prow proxy as long as you don't advertize or sell it as such a thing. I remember seeing some awsome cool 40k scale things which looked a bit like Emperor class Titans. They were pulled from the manufacturer's website after a while. Most likely someone at GW found the resembelance a bit too striking...

The High Admirality of Battlefleet Gothic did ask Forgeworld if they could do Voss prows. No answer been given.
The Mars Fleet is by Specialist Games.

Hehe... if I had been thinking I would have looked there first actually. Thanks WMN.
Does anyone have any idea on the "original" release date for those? Obviously with SG's release schedule going wonky it's not soon but...

That was Mark over at Dreamforge Games and yes, he did indeed get slapped with a Cease & Desist order by GW for IP infringement over them.
