Hi Nice painting dysartes-good gaming standard. What did you think of the Rogue Trader Cruiser model? I have been thinking of getting one or more. How many parts do they come in? Whenever I have seen them on GW online store or in Fanatic magazine they have only shown the finished ship. I presume that you can use different weapons instead of the weapon batteries -i.e. lances or launch bays? How easy would it be to use the RT Cruiser for more adventurous conversions? i.e. is the prow separate or attached to the main hul. Cheers James |

The Rogue Trader is a nice ship to paint, and as long as you have a picture to work off, assembly is pretty straight forwards. Everything bar the aerials and weapons batteries is metal, in 6 sections - main hull, engines, wings (x2), bridge, and the piece the stand attaches to. The only assembly areas that required real work was attaching the engines to the hull (needed some GS to fit flush) and attaching the aerials (the holes needed redrilling). Having got hold of Fanatic #7 now, I can confirm that the RT cruisers only armaments is weapons batteries - 5 different sets (30cm/45cm each side, 30cm prow), which means they replaced the torps with WB since it was first published. Still not keen on the escorts, though ![]() The prow is attached to the main hull but, looking at it, if you were to drill some torpedo tubes in it, you'd be able to use it as the base for a Kar Duniash-pattern ship. I might consider not using the aerials around the bridge if I were doing that, though. Hmm, you've given me an idea.....watch this space ![]() |

Nice to see some close ups of the RT cruiser. I must confess that I'm a bit two minded on this one. I like the overall shape of the ship but if I ever get one I'll probably lose the antennae and re-model the "wings" making them shorter and wider. Perhaps attatch some antennae or similar as well. Cheers! ![]() |

Like the paint scheme Dystartes, well done. ![]() I'm also not sure on the RT cruiser- some of Fanatic's BFG offerings are of slightly lower quality in terms of sculpting when compared to the main original range- and this is one in my opinion; I don't mind the wings (not keen on the antennae though), but it looks a little like a few different models cut up and stuck together- rather than a whole new model. The prow is nice though! ![]() |

Mental note - order 3 more RT cruisers for a KAr Duniash battlegroup when I order my next batch of ToSG stuff ![]() |

Hi Dysartes. What made you choose the colour scheme for your fleet? Was it before you decided to add some of the RT cruisers as Kar Duniash pattern? Is your fleet intended to be in Ultima Segmentum? Just wondering whether you picked colour scheme as using Ultramarines colours? Cheers James |

WI> The other 3-4k of my fleet was painted about a year and a half ago, roughly. Basically, I decided the blue and gold worked well together, which decided the colours for the prow. As for the dry-brushed grey, I felt that a ship would be dark(ish - they're getting lighter) to try to blend in a little with the dark void. |
