Today's pic of the day on the Fanatic site: http://www.specialist-games.com/ is a "Cobra Conversion" -anyone know what this is for- does it have rules / will it be released etc....?

I'm only guessing but i could be a model to represent the option avalible to cobras in the blue blook
I would think that that detection gear would take up a fair amount of space

Yeah.. thought it might be a ship from that squadron or a Viper torpedo destroyer from the Bakka list...

Don't look now, but there's another of 'em - this time its a transport - looks a bit like a submarine if you concentrate on the conning tow- on the bridge. How do they get that green stuff so perfectly straight and slab-sided?

I heard that they have their own cetrifuge for casting up there. A little one so that they can run off whatever they like. I have no idea how they get the GS so smooth. I guess that you need to work with it wet.
I think that the Cobra was a conversion. Very nice though.

The Viper is a modified Cobra with stripped out weapon batteries to make room for more torps....
I'd guess to get the GS so flat they just slice it with a scalpel when nearly dry...

Nice conversions! You would have to cast that up if you wanted more than one, imagine the work needed to make squadrons worth!
Cheers

Again - don't look now, but there's an 'alien ship' on pic of the day - tail end looks a bit like a landing craft (I won't say THAT word, I'm in therapy).. So - wozzit?

Quote (vanvlak @ 27 2003 Nov.,06:20) | Again - don't look now, but there's an 'alien ship' on pic of the day - wozzit? | Darn - now I'm even quoting myself..... An inspiration of sorts - dare I say - Demiurg? Doesn't much look like it... As an aside, would you expect Squat ships to look like the current Demiurg ships, or something totally different (but hopefully not something entirely plastered with runes)?

...Interesting... not Demiurg I'd say- it looks a little thin and delicate imo. With these pics of these new ships suddenly appearing, anyone reckon there could be a campaign supplement (in a similar style to the Inquisitor books recently released) in the offing for BFG & featuring these ships? ?

Just calling it an "Alien Ship" is kinda weak. It could be anything! Plus I wish there was some kind of structure to these pics, like when there was the long run of new epic models.
Cheers

Nope, and I would guess there won't be one either, as the fluff says they pack everything on board their capital ships and then go colonise a few worlds with it.
Cheers
