I'm reluctantly eBaying my Warhammer Orc and Goblins (the only army I ever painted) :(

I don't expect anyone here to be interested in buying big scale models, but I thought I’d stick up a thread to show off some of the converting and painting I did years ago. Judging by the complete absence of painting I’ve done in more recent times some of you probably wonder if I do / can paint. I was once more productive, look:

the giant alone is worth a bit..... do you just have the one albion giant?

I'm loving the paint scheme, proper old style with the goblin green bases!

Thanks and I do have two of them; I've just uploaded the second one now. Piccy:

I guess it is quite a retro look. I did once start re-basing the army onto more modern painted brown sand with flock clumps style bases, but I surprised myself by preferring the simple flock as it complimented the overall colours and look better.

This was my general Porko below, with his magical Pigstikka (just over 10.5cm long):

There's an W40k Warlord Nazdreg conversion too:

I'm seeing what some of you mean about coolmini now too, I've put a few photos up on there and none of them are doing very well - my chariot is only scoring 4.7. It's only flocked and some is quite basic, but is it really less than gaming standard? I swear the ranking was a bit more generous a few years ago.

Glyn

Shame you have to sell the army. There are some lovely painted figures there. Good luck.

Cheers

Thanks guys! The thread is actually from July last year when I sold them, I guess Ulric just stumbled on across it recently.

I'm glad I put them online though, as I'd have no other way to look back on them from the other side of the world otherwise.

Yep, I'm two and a half months into a two year working holiday in Australia, so far just in Sydney, where I plan to work for the next few months to pay off some debt I unfortunately built up. I'm going to gradually bicycle all round the country and get involved with agroforestry, permaculture and organic farming projects along the way.

Hopefully I'll meet up with a load of the Ozzy players along the way for epic games, though I need to clean up, convert and build the Space Marine army I brought with me first, as it's mostly still just in bits at the moment.

You're a madman. In a good way; I simply don't have the orgazinational skills to make that sort of thing work. The family's also a slight impediment now, but my point stands. :P

Hah, possibly :) I'm probably the most disorganised person I know, but I'm hoping I'll muddle through and things will work out. I spent ages researching the kit needed to bicycle tour such long distances from others who do the same (one guy, who's blog was helpful, has spent the last 7 years straight bicycling touring around a number of continents) and I'll work myself up to it gradually.

I've never learnt to drive and see no point in doing so now since we passed peak oil several years ago, so bicycling (and hopefully sailing, if I can learn here like I want to) are my means to see the world. The only immediate family I had passed away a few years ago sadly, so I have nothing tying me to the UK and no desire to return. I hope to travel for the next 5 years maybe, enjoying life and looking for a good place and people to settle.

Sounds like it'll be either a ton of fun, a real headache, or both. I wish you luck: I never got to travel as much as I would have liked, and won't be able to for some years now. A family's worth it (most days), but there are some things that are simply not options anymore.

Maybe you should petition CS to change your handle to "ADent"? :D
