Taken during gaming last weekend. This was the debut game for this fleet, my first time ever playing Eldar in any 40K-ish related game.

We had 4 players so we went with two teams, random partner selection. Team 1: Imperial/SM & Eldar; Team 2: Imperial & Chaos.

Game 1 was a raid and was very short and sweet, it was called at the top of turn 1 in fact. My fleet consisted of 2 Dragonships (Admiral with 2 rerolls); 4 Wraithships (ghostships w/Seer); 4 escorts with lances.

The Imp battleship and grand cruiser fell before the Eldar before I even finished rolling their weapons fire. Our opponents lost enough the first round, they called this game. But in their defense, we opted to run 100% points for the attackers as we had 4 players and already had fleet list in hand and this was a random scenario. The attackers are supposed to be at 50% and this greatly unbalanced the scenario.

Game 2 was a straight up cruiser clash (we kept same fleet lists, so there were battleships and escorts present also).

Our opponents went first and opened up on our fleets with not only 2 Armageddon cannons but a planet killer. Even with this firepower, their effectiveness was low.

The CW Iyanden fleet move forward and unleash hell upon the Monkeigh. 2 of the Ghostships fire their pulsar lances and scored hits three times with each weapon for a total of 12 lance hits! The Dragonships likewise were fearsome in their fire and many Monkeigh perished.
Image
After unleashing their fire and ordnance (torps and bombers), the Eldar fleet turn their sails and dash behind the shadow of the planet.
Image
One of the Monkeigh vessels exploded and caused crippling damage to nearby friendly ships. Following another poor round of the Monkeigh weak attempts at fire, the Iyanden turn about and come to bear to finish off the Imperial Monkeigh and their crazed brethren.

The Monkeigh's fleet lay adrift as hulks or fleeing.

Three Chaos demon ships arrive but too late to turn the battle.

Cool report.
You have 4 Spacefleet Wraithships. I have zero. Something is unfair. ;)

Why Ghostships? In my opinion the GS rules are crap, aka Deer in the Headlights.

I took the GS to avoid the 4+ critical hits rule. It worked out, those were the only ships they fired on. One was crippled and three others had minor damage but no criticals.

You should use the MMS rules anyway.

Ah kiddin

under official rules: Ghosthip, failed Ld test = NOTHING. Deer in the headlight. So friggin risky.

BTW I'm also working on some BFG conversion rules for Napoleonic naval battles and also Star Trek. Nothing too elaborate just yet.

Do Age of Sail or Star Trek have any Lance equivalants? I can't think of any. Would you be using only batteries, and Torps in the ST?

Lance would extinct for Age of Sail; I've been playing around with the idea of phasers as lances ala old ST. Photons could also be used as lances for ease but that does away with ordnance pretty much. Right now im at phasers = lances and photons = ordnance.
