Welcome to the Tactical Command Monthly Painting challenge 002.

As this month is October, the month of Halloween, this month's topic is to paint at least one miniature to the theme of "Spooky!".

The topic can be interpreted in any way you like, and can involve any scale of miniature painting (Or even 2d canvas painting, or house painting, etc!). As long as there's some paint involved, you can enter!

Post photos of your completed images in this thread, that way everybody's pictures will all be in the same place.

The deadline for completion of MPC-002 is Thursday the 30th of October... enjoy!

I was taking new photographs of old models when I opened this thread. Its not newly painted, in fact its oneof my earliest conversions but since its only a fun challenge, I thought I might be able to get away with posting a pic - I'll get something new done for it by the end of the month - honest!

>:D

So, this was "Slimer the Rhino" from the late nineties - Not sure when or why I went back & gave it red hair though....

Great paint job with the pallid flesh on the ghoul. Very realistic looking.

You must expound on your technique! :)

Surprisingly simple, actually.

Skin - Astronomicon Grey > A. Grey mixed with white highlight > White highlight > Ogryn Flesh Wash

Cloth - Khemri Brown > K. Brown mixed with a little Bleached Bone highlight > K. Brown mixed with more Bleached Bone highlight > Devlan Mud Wash

Eyes - White > Black dot for pupil

Bloody hands/face > Dark Flesh watered down so much that it's a translucent wash

Base - Charadon Granite > Khemri Brown > Denab Stone

Charadon Granite and Khemri Brown was also splashed around on the lower legs & feet as I figured this guy runs around barefoot all the time so he'd have dirty feet.

This is the first 28mm figure I've painted in a while, makes me wish I was going to do a whole undead army in 28mm as I think my painting style would suit it.

E&C. not doing an undead army is criminal if they'd be any good as the first.
Go on, they're fun to paint :)

Are we done with this, and do we have a new theme?

Ah yes, I meant to put up a new theme but I've been busy.

I just got my Mantic ghouls, and was somewhat dissapointed to see that there are only two general body forms, both of which have jazz hands.

Kind of a let-down compared to their other kick-ass stuff.
