You must have a really, really steady hand

Haha, thanks. Actually its mainly using the right instruments. This paintbrush helps a lot. Its an 18-0 liner brush. Its designed to hold lots of paint, but allow for controlled thin curves. I use it for all the curvilinear stuff, and for lettering. It is by far my favorite brush. I found it at an art supply store, NOT a hobby store.

I really love all your ships.....colors and LED's.
Have you ever considered commissions???
I'd love to, but time would prevent this unfortunately.
I think I've got the new mac to work. I'm gonna start painting the final ship in the fleet now. I was planning on entering it into gothicomp, but did not have the time. THe construction is finished, and its quite odd. Its a heavily converted VS, with a split-hull prow and carrier flight deck. I plan to use lots of freehand painting on it, like my ultramarine carrier.
In the meantime, here are some more pics of the fleet - was trying out my lens normally used for work. Its a really close up lens, so gives good detail but not really suited to photographing multiple ships. Couldn't be bothered this time to provide a decent backdrop, so also enjoy looking at my patio table!
Thanks,
CF
