Since I'm still waiting for my mate to finish up the backbone of my new website, I thought I'd post a quick pic of my Savage Orc army thus far. A few items were painted previously, but the vast majority have seen the brush this year. First thing you might notice is that iAnd yes, its no longer just savage orcs. Thos who have seen my personal project in the past will not be surprised to hear that this project has been expanded to encompass all manner of Greenskin mennaces. I never seem to do antything by halves and should hit 10,000points in the next couple of months assuming a) I dont get carried away with too many conversions or characters b) my GF doesn't snap all my brushes.. Really just basics comes to painting to get them out, but the units are all getting used on the table top & I'm going back and adding details & highlights whenever they "deserve" them. For the moment though, speed painting is the key! And in a complete switch from small scale stuff, I'm really enjoying the giants - both painted in completely different styles.. but hey... I'll just make sure they dont sit next to each other on the table too often! |

I havent taken any detail shots yet, but I'll get the spiders in front of the camera tomorrow if they're of particular interest. As I said, its all speed painting, so dont expect wonders at this stage, but I'll happilly show you what I have done so far as best I can ![]() Cheers, P. |

Evil and Chaos wrote: Nice skin, I hate painting large expanses of flesh. You and me both! Akro-Ha Gumda was painted with foundation paint, wash, then layered adding elf flesh and bleached bone to the foundation flesh colour. Nice and natural result, fits with the dark dull army style. Big Pappa Gumda on the other hand was painted using the Foundry system. Hence he looks totally different. Really easy though - straight out the pot. I feel dirty using their paints, and indeed even calling it "the foundry system"..... but it works.. dammit... >:D Very 90s look to him, fitting of a model I've wanted to paint for best part of 20 years! Anyway, here's some more pics of the items in question. Hope you like them ![]() The Skull Riders And a Spider from the red stripe clan: |

Then there's the giants... Akro-ha Gumda. (His brother, Ugaru-ha Gumda is awaiting a LOT more putty work! wont be done for a while, but he is rather fun!) His trousers are acting like my the heraldry on my titans in days of old. They start grey, but for every different army I face, I will paint a patch in their colour scheme, and keep record of wins, losses. I've got 3 more patches to add already. All losses! Currently present are part of a dwarven banner, and some tzeentchen cloth to wipe his arse with (first opponent - good mate, so thus gets most degrading spot!). |

frogbear wrote: Those spider riders are really nice. You say you rushed them? I am jealous of your rushing skill then ![]() thanks guys : The rushing skill is a combination of two things - 1) 10 years painting, including 4.5 of those as a full-time job. 2) Devlan Mud and badab black washes I was thinking about doing a full stage by stage for my website when its up. Think I'll make a spider rider the subject of it now, though obviously seeing as it will give away my secrets, anyone who reads it will be hunted down & shot... cant help that... ![]() |
