Interplanetary UFO Mystery Ship

The Interplanetary UFO Mystery Ship is a legendary AMT sci-fi kit that has been out of release for over 30 years! Now it’s back in retrostyle packaging and features glow-in-the dark plastic, just like the classic ‘70s version of the kit.

This classic spacecraft was designed by Matt Jeffries, production designer who created the Enterprise for the original Star Trek TV show! The initial version of this kit was originally part of AMT’s Strategic Space Command series, and now Round 2 restores this kit to its rightful place as the first in a planned series that pick up the line where AMT left off.

Kit features opening docking bay doors, mini alien scout craft, decals and exclusive Strategic Space Command back story!

Yes, I had one way, way back. If I get one in Nov. I'd use plastic sheet and bitz to fill in and cover the launch bay. Add landing legs and use the scout ship as an ARVUS Mk. II or Lightening Mk.II or something ? Even though it's 1/500th scale it's still big enough at 13 inches/32.5cm for Epic scale ...  But we'll see ... :)

I would not cover the launch bay. That would be a great way to deliver jet bikes etc.

But I would add legs and hatches on the sides to disembark the troops.  :;):

Good point ! I'll have to think about how to make the bay doors look more realistic.   And yes, hatches & legs would be added.   I also found a site that sells the scout ship separately ... I may get 1 or 2 just for old times ! :))  If nothing else it would make a good terrain piece ! :D

Well I ordered 2 Scout Ships from Federation Models.  They have 1.5 inch/37mm wing span and the same nose to tail ...  They will make good one man aircraft ...  I'll post pics as usual !   :agree:   Like I need more stuff to paint !!  :cool:

Well I got the 2 Scout Ships !  Dark Angels for scale ... There were a couple of bubbles on one of the tail wings and fuselage.  Which isn't rare with resin.  So instead of puttying them up ... I added bitz ...  I don't know if I'll use the "peg" landing legs.  Maybe I'll just mount them in flight.  Not sure what stats I'll use ?  Maybe Lightening data ?  This would be the Mk.IIaL4 ...  :vD     :ace:
