Yes, the XB-49 was shown in the 50's version of WotW. The XB-35 was the prop version of Northrop's flying wing. Jack Northrop (and the Lippisch brothers) was certainly ahead of the times. Unfortunately for him, the technology at the time couldn't keep up with his design.

Yeah. From that angle it'd be tough to see the fins on the dorsal side.
I have an evil thought for you Aeronef heads out there. There's this story called 'Last Exile' (Japanese Anime) that is centered around some light fliers, but also features aeronef-like flying battleships. One, called the Silvana, is very close to a Japanese Mogami-class cruiser. The animation is by Gonzo (so it very high-quality), and includes some massed line-of-battle capital-ship engagements, with a few light fliers ('vanships', which look like 1920-30s cars) as 'fighters'.

Those battle scenes are terrific - some nice potential for scenarios too!

No problem. Now all I have to do is to find some rules and improvise some 'nefs myself.
Be afraid of the Silvana. She will get you.

Vanships? | Right on target. Try also Last Exile - you can even see a ship fire its cannon!

Actuallt that is pretty cool. They remind me of classic automobiles.
That would be interesting alternative history. With airships of this nature would there ahve even been trenchwarfare.

"...But still they come!" ? ?
The workshop bench is getting up to full production speed now. ? Its cluttered again with a Tripod, a number of Nefs and now 3 Land Ironclad conversions! ?
