Hi!

hehe, for a minute there I thought it was an epic mini, not a 40k one.

How did you do the wings interior warmaster?

Never seen that drake before - and you're right Warmaster, it's a winner - fantastic pait, too. I agree about the FW ones -GW's are a bit too snaky for my taste. More in the Wyverny way.  :D

That's a wonderful drake Mr WN, and please do detail how the wings are painted, nice effect.
How did you come across this beast, I'm now rather tempted to get one, always been fond of Dragons

The wings were first painted white. Then a heavy wash of thinned down Snakebite Leather and Black was applied. I thought it was a bit too dark and grainy so I tried to lighten it upp a bit by drybrushing on some Bleached bone. To get the right effect you need a large brush which is wiped VERY dry. You need to press very hard to get any colour off the brush whatsoever. It is a bit tricky but the result looks a bit like airbrush with the added advantage that paint is only applied to the raised areas.

More pics later today :;):

Hi!

Sounds somewhat difficult, but the result is great!

I don't know if it is that difficult... but of course that's easy to say when you know how :p  Looking at the wings in the cold light of day I thought they looked a bit too pale compared to the vibrant colours of the rest of the model. I've added a bit of very very thinned down Snakebite leather which doesn't cover anything but helps to bring a slightly warmer tone to the colour.

Also I'm working on the claws and horns of the beast. They look better now I think. I still haven't settled for a colour for the mouth. Since the dragon is very red I thought it might not give enough contrast too use a standard flesh colur to the gums and tounge. The best alternative I can think of is black. Green being a bit too colourfull for my taste. Well I've decided to finish most of the beast tonight so stay tuned for pics later tonight or tomorrow. I still need to do the rider though...

Cheers! :)

The Dragon itself is finished now. However I still need to paint the saddle and rider+ come up with a nice scenic base. Oh well I guess that's tomorrow's task. :;):
I'll snap a few pics tomorrow.

Cheers! :)

Tonight, for a change, I did some detailing on some Epic Imperial Guard! Some Salamander conversions (Hydra hulls with Heavy Bolter cupolas), and a Hellhound.

Thought about doing some Tallarn Leman Russ to complement my Feral Orks, but not sure...

Looked at my Ork Supa Landa (read Star Wars Freighter) and drybushed the engine parts.

Found my other Epic Grot Bomb Launcha and some Skorchas ready to paint for the Airfield defence force. Also found another conversion I did of an old Basilisk hull, Ork Gutrippa plastic arm and a Epic40K era dozer blade.

Also finished off my 40K scale Skorcha (sticking it together).

These b******s from B&C have banned me finally, for no apparent reason. This means war. I will yet laugh upon its ruins.

Working on Pascal programming right now, and it goes on rather well. Something called "Fibonacci's string" (or something like that) that was supposed to be insanely difficult I have managed to program correctly within 5 minutes.

Having finished the Sherminators on Sunday, last night was spent stipling or constructing Leman Russ' and undercoating/basecoating a Chimera.

In theory, I should be able to finish my Demolisher tonight, and everything bar the commander of the Exterminator as well.

The admin I contacted said that the charge was flaming people. Total BS, I know what I have posted on the board recently.

They are going to find out that I'm far more then they bargained for... right now, just to p*** them off, I have sent an e-mail to their admin requesting removal of certain avatar images I made and allowed them to use some time ago. Maybe it's little, but it's just a beginning - and they're gonna have a lot of trouble with "where did my avatar go" questions.

...and here is the finished Skorcha

NB it's a 40K scale model...
