The process was relatively simple and quick.
First was find the two pictures, one was a photo of my scenery.

The other was Warmaster Nice's excellent Ork Airship.

Both images were imported into Fireworks.
Using a Magic Wand Mask I took out the background of the Airship. Once most of it was deleted I then used the eraser tool to take out the remainder.

The background was changed from white to transparent.
I then selected the now transparent background, and then inversed the selection so that the Airship was now selected.

The Airship was then resized.

I then added an Inner Shadow, this darkens the top left edge.

A Drop Shadow was then added to the Airship which adds height to the Airship.

I then dragged the Airship onto the scenery and moved it until I got an image I liked.

You can go a stage further as in this image.

In this image I have added another copy of the Airship, rotated it slightly and then made it slightly smaller.
Both images then had their Hue and Saturation altered to make them look different.
If I was doing this *properly* I would have taken pictures of both the scenery and the miniatures with the same lighting to enhance the picture.

Quote (Jimbo @ 26 2005 June,11:16) | Of course you don't need to use the lightning background. | Sorry, but the Lightning one just had more... Let's see... um, Story to it.
Liked both, but loved the lightning one.
