Four hours taking photos of a rock in the Maltese sun was fun, but devastating....

What would you call a photograph of a camera?  ???

Camera-derie? ?:p
The job was taking thermal pics of a megalith in the Neolithic temples in Hagar Qim, and the beastie in the pic is actually a (very heavy) thermal imager.

Strictly speaking I shouldn't, as they are now the intellectual property of our University's client, but I don't think one taken of a rubble wall will matter  :D

That is tooooooo coooooool!

It's clearly the same wall as the first pic.  I'm guessing only 6 minutes later.  What caused the color differential?

Same wall. I guess my colleague's hat absorbed all the heat....  :p
No, seriously: if you can make out the temperature scale on the coloured bar below the images, you'll notice that the range on the lower image is wider than that on the first (the wall alone). This means that whilst the range of colours (blue to white) in the wall pic spanned 31-35 degrees Centigrade, in the second pic the span is 16 to 45 - the low being some very cool region of the wall not seen in the first pic - probably the deep crevices - the high related to the hat - a dark coloured cloth hat which apparently absorbed loads of sunlight! So now the stones in the wall, which have a narrower range, use only a smaller range of colours, as the red and white are reserved for the engineer and hat.
As my colleague is camera shy, I won't publish a pic of him here. He's wearing suglasses, incidentally.
The wall won't mind as much I guess.

I found this kind of thing a lot of fun. Getting to see how these things are being used to do so much research.

Had a friend who was using a similar devise to work on new insulation materials. His company was working on development of lighter and less bulky insulation materials. At least that was how I understood it. My friend worked in a testing department of some kind.
