Quote (Chris @ 14 2003 May,10:04) | But you are only as old as you feel.
Cheers Chris |
I always thought you were only as old as the woman you were feeling..... ?
Which probably makes Legion about 21 - same as me (well, within a month...)!

>Just to make some of you feel, erm, worse, Legion 4, when I was born you were 30!
OK time to be quiet now young man, and think about all the time we have had to buy minis and play with them while you were in nappies and learning how to spell.
So respect your elders, or dont be suprised when the Thunderhawk smashes through your roof and the assault troops pour out looking for you

Which at the moment is older than me! (I am 21 on the 27th of May and she is already 21).
However, if you asked me a few mere months ago, I would have been sweet 16 by your reckoning .
Of course, once Avril finally realises what she is missing, then I will be younger again .

True. Although I never thought of that.
OK time to be quiet now young man, and think about all the time we have had to buy minis and play with them while you were in nappies and learning how to spell. |

So respect your elders, or dont be suprised when the Thunderhawk smashes through your roof and the assault troops pour out looking for you
You say it as if it hasn't already happened
Of course, once Avril finally realises what she is missing, then I will be younger again .

Primarch,
What kind of doctor are you?
All,
Having lived abroad for some time in places other than the United States, these are my comments:
Outside of the "First World," dental and health care tends to be spotty and concurrently low and high quality aid is available. What's publicly available tends be of low quality, generally speaking, and what is privately (and expensively) available tends be of very high quality. Socialized healthcare tends to lower the quality of care in my opinion. Privatized healthcare is less just and available, but the quality is much better.
When I was living abroad in the former Soviet Union and nearby areas, most health care tended to be far behind the levels and quality standards in the United States. However, if you went to a provate practitioner, you could get medicine equal to or above the standard quality of care in the USA. Optometry, particularly, in the fromer USSR tended to be of very high quality. Some of the Moscow optometrists are world famous. They pioneered laser eye surgury there.
My uncle in Tailand usually comes home to the USA for potentially painful dental procedures because he has had several bad experiences with anesthesia (or lack of it) there.
In Israel, most dentists and doctors are equal to or above US levels. I did find a few Russian-background practitioners who were practicing Russian common medicine, but the average was much better.
I found Japan to have a high level of medical care as well.
Mexico is a place that I wouldn't want to gamble my health on. The high quality end is hard to find and some of the medication produced there isn't very effective by FDA standards (doesn't work at 95% or better efficacy). If you're taking high blood pressure medication, you want consistent results.
I only went to Finland a few times and I wouldn't be surprised if vodka was the anasthetic although probably not. They'd probably have Russian-made xylocaine 2% in a REUSABLE glass syringe! Finland has one of the highest rates of alcoholism in the world (last time I checked, the highest).
I used to practive pharmacy before I switched to education.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
