Got a count of my old RAFM Heavy Gear Tanks.

7 Northern Klemm tanks and 6 Southern Hunn tanks.

Put together the Klemms tonight and will try and put together the Hunn on Thursday Night. That would give me over 40 vehicles to primer on Frinday. :D

Hi!

Those old oversized models are great.

I actually use the old RAFM mammoth mechs as emperor class slann titans.

Very nice models.

The old scale ones are the only ones I use and I do not have any of the newer ones.

I always felt betrayed by DP9 when they ignored our requests not to poo on our existing collections.

Thier loss.

Like I said about GW, they have no idea the money I spend a year, every year. And they get none.  :;):

Technically neither of those. They are HO scale or 1/87th.

However, when placed next to a 15mm guy they look great.

In the attached picture the guy on the right is the old RAFM HO scale. The guy in the center is one of the old Citadel 15mm Traveller guys. The one on the left is the new DP9 1/144th scale Gears.

Keep in mind the pilot is sitting inside the chest of the gear. Then look at them. The HO scale one fits the background in my mind.

Now having said that, many people like the smaller ones better. So be it.

Hi!

Dafrca has the scale right. I dont think DP9 ever really overcame that infamous change in scale. I like the bigger ones a lot more.

Oh well.

I agree. The older ones felt right. I could use 15mm stuff and it looked "right" next to the older gear.

The new stuff is not "bad" per say. Some nice minis and all, but they just feel fragile to me. I do not like the way they bend so easy and the gear size out to be slightly thin and in most cases smaller the 28mm humans being dome now. I do not like the new ones at all.

Hi!

I actually played that game but dumped it with the scale change. The current models are nice, but as you say the older ones were better for 15mm.

Primarch

Not only better for 15mm, but in my opinion, better for the scale of game it was meant to be. The game started out as a Skirmish game. 5 to 10 Gear per side. The larger gear were perfect for that. Too bad they just dorked it.  :(

Hi,
I been having trouble getting on the boards due to an error msg but I've finally got through today. I've been busy getting ready to move so I haven't done much except some busy work.
Here I have 2 AA emplacements

Hi,
These were done to test various color schemes (L to R)
Scions of Sigmar, World Eaters, Alternate Ultramarines and finally Storm Ravens.

Very nice, especially like the AA bunkers (but then I am an EpicHead  )
Personally I think I would go for the alternate ultras.

I've just started some DRM buildings etc, very, very nice, I'll try and get some pics up soon but my social life is a whirl at the moment, there's a lot of footy on and the weather is godawful.

Last night I put the finishing touches on my six bomdards. I also brushed off the dust on my E40k box and took out all of the ruins, which I never did get around to working on. I hope to start working on them soon.
