Hi Primarch,

The 15mm one was a custom-made one if I'm correct. Dafrca can correct me if I'm wrong.

There was guy who made a number of custom OGRE vehicles for awhile and sold some of the copies (Without letting SJG of his intent)...

The rumor is that SJG asked him to stop and let him know what they'd do if he didn't.

I also hear that they inquired about his molds, but haven't heard anything further.

There was a guy that also made Vacuform OGREs in 25mm! They played huge games on gym floors.

Man would I feel guilty. The 6mm King goes 15mm...  :laugh:

As a scale I think it is a great compromise between 28mm and 6mm. On the one hand the figures are large enough to still have some great detail opportunity. On the other hand they are small enough to play more then a few squads on a 4'x6" and not look "smashed" onto the table.

But keep in mind it is a compromise. The amount of "characters" for example is far less then 28mm. And the vast seas of tanks are still very expensive compaired to 6mm.

I assume you mean 6mm Mk VI from Steve Jackson Games:

It is $20 USD

It is 3 5/8 inches long and 1 7/8 inches wide. The chassis stands 15/16 of an inch tall (the tower adds an additional inch).

If you want one, go to Steve Jackson Games and they sell this mini only from their mail order site.

The 15mm one is no longer for sale. Unless you find someone who owns one and wants to part with it. The person who made it told me he did 11 kits and then stoped. He did not want to draw down SJGs onto him.

Max is correct on most of his points.

The 15mm OGRE I have was made from a master custom made just for that one time.

However, as far as I know, this was not the same person who made the 15mm tanks and other vehicles that showed up some time ago. That person was the one who got into trouble with SJGs. At least that was what I understood. :-)

The person who made the 28mm version of the OGRE and Vehicles did have SJGs permission and was going to sell them, but the costs were so high they never went into final production. I wonder what would have happened when you see the prices of the 28mm Forge World stuff and the Armorcast stuff. But we will never know.

Good Lord!  28mm Ogres?! :wtf:  I think my credit card just wilted from the thought alone!

Thanks for the group shot, I'd never seen the Mk1 or Mk2.  Note to self:  Scratchbuild the Mk1, she's too ugly :( .
