It's actually pretty easy to do. I got one of those huge drink straws you get from asian drink places (The ones that sell stuff that you have no idea what it is, and looks like fish eggs in milk, but tastes nice) and cut it artistically. Then I just glued it on with 2-part epoxy, dribbled some gobs of epoxy around the place and painted it up. I especially like the floating scum effect that watered-down camo green on tope of DA green gave.

I use thin plastic, clay and even some resin bases I got from the estranged Signius a few years back.
