Why not make the Quake Cannon system caseless and build in some sort of ammo blow out panels instead?

I'll take that into consideration and sketch sommat up. Thanks for the ideas.

PS. clarify "blow out panels" does this mean for jammed ammunition, heat ejection etc . . .?

When ammo cooks off some tanks have set up that allows the explosion to go mostly out instead of staying inside. The armour plate is harder to make and often isn't as strong, but even simple angling can partialy achieve it. Of course here any such system would be overemphasised or you wouldn't notice it!

Cool, I'll try to get that in. You played turok or halo? Like the overheated plasma weapons in those games, with the big flaps.

yep the plasma gun in Halo is a good one, there are  2 or 4 vents (depens on which one in the trilogy) that open when it over heats because you been fireing to fast.

firing too long.

Yeh, I liked those, though for the clunky feel of a quake cannon, might make something more mechanical looking.
I have to draw it.

Yes, that is for a magazine explosion though.  A cook off in the breach gains no benefit from those designs.

Some weapons with power driven feed systems (chainguns, miniguns. etc...) will eject a failed round no matter if it is a cook off, dud, misfire, etc...  because the feed/ejection system simply keeps going (though they can be prone to feed jams due to that failed round).

Chaplin L is correct, I imagine we went thru similar training ... :D  The M1 Abrams ammo storage has blowout panels. And IIRC, the Bushmaster Chaingun works as the Chaplin said. So it comes down to what you want for your weapons design or what the fluff says ... Or both ...

Jonluke,

Mate weapons are looking good so far. Lots of interesting discussion here from the former and existing serving members on the forum. Do you envisage that once you have made these weapons in the large scale you would be making them in reduced scale as well? There is a large gap in the area of weapons for Epic scale Titans. I am sure the community here would support someone making weapons packs for titans.

Cheers
Aaron
