Hi!
Legion4, no your not in the infernal regions just yet, actually this forum can be considered a sort of paradise for us malcontents. No hurry, we'll all burn sooner or later anyway, no need to rush it.
Tas, the viking funeral is not a bad idea, you dont need to worry about tomb robbers, but if the thief is that Tomb Raider chick, then I dont mind the instrusion....
Chris, you are morally obligated to violate such a heinous mandate, you must buy, buy, buy, until a judge declares you bankrupt, in which case you can change your name and buy even more.
Painting comes in a distant last when compared to the need of acquiring more epic miniatures!

Quote (Chris @ 13 2003 June,12:22) | I've been banned from buying any more mins until all these are assembled and painted - no fair. |
Oh dear!!!
I have been a wargamer perhaps for more years than some listers have been alive. I am a firm believer in the wargamers rumour that when all your lead is assembled and painted you die. I always have more lead than I can paint. I am still alive 50 plus years (more plus than minus) must prove the theory. Be very careful Chris your days may be numbered. Stay safe, buy lead now!!!!
Bob DeAngelis
PS this may of course be simply a rumour begun by unscrupulous figure manufacturers but I personally am taking no chances.

The reason I was banned is that my mum (yes I still live with my parents - I'm just 16 ) was concerned I was wanting to buy buy buy, while I have boxes full of unpainted and unassembled models. She even said she would freeze my account if I bought any more.
Its only because she cares, plus I will have some stuff unpainted, I'll see to that, just to make sure I don't die!!! (thanks Bob...)
Cheers
Chris

As most are well aware, I've been thinning my collections a great deal lately and have had a hard time trying to explain the "no new lead = dead" theory as my reason for keeping a random selection of "to be done" pieces to my girlfriend without luck (& dont worry Chris - I just turned 21 and havent quite escaped "home" yet....they have no control over me, but I think they still think of wargamig as something "he might grow out of"....)!
Actually, come to think of it, that may explain a lot of my health issues........ time to start buying again...

... Reverting to the original topic now ?
After finally finishing the rebasing of all my Epic Eldar, I'm now starting another project: I'm going to be doing Epic scenery, so I decided I'd start with some nice simple roads...
So, does anyone have any good tips for making them, and/or any pics?

Hi!
Stormseer, one economical way it to cut strip of felt cloth and use them as modular pieces of roads.
Another one is using those rubber bases train modelers use to put their tracks on, they are a perfect size for epic.

Hmm, sound interesting, I believe I've seen them before, so I will have a look into them....
Cheers!

Hi!
I once investigated those rubber track things pretty extensively some years ago. They are relatively cheap, but watch out for the scale, since there are several different ones.

I've got board of my plague monks for a while, so I started on my 40K battlewagon again.
I'm just so fickle, flicking from one project to another. I wish I could finish one.

..Heh- I think thats a problem we all have; I have a squad of Guardians to paint that have been on my desk for at least a year (just too boring to paint), as well as lots of 40k Nurgle stuff and Epic things....

I think everyone has projects which they atart and then take forever to get round to finishing. I know I have an Ork Nob/Warboss for 40K which I resculpted a large portion of then never quite got around to finishing the painting. He was going to be part of an Ork command squad for last years GD, but I missed the deadline and have never got back to them (1 is finished - he's on the front of my mercenary brush site).
I also have a converted mounted Slaaneshi champion fromt he WHFB line which is in a similar state. They're both going to be display / competiton pieces but since I've been trying to shift my focus to good army standards, I cant find the time or motivation to start working again on a modelwhich I know will take 20 hours++ to get to the level I want them.
More recent projects: Working on another MkIII warlord for my Steel Monolith Legion. This ones an Assault / Siege titan which is yet to be named - any deas anyone?
Also tryig to make a decision on which way to go with my old style titans. I want to paint a few more, but they'll probably have to be sold in the end. My problem is that I did a test piece for Doug a week or so back in a Warp Runners scheme and am now getting sorely tempted to do some more up to match rather than my usual Steel Monolith's style.
Just finished touching up a 25/28mm barbarian King piece which I did a while back for Black Tree Designs. I used the king piece as a character in Warhammer quest and needless to say he got mildly battle worn, but he's looking good again now & will be on the M'Brush site within an hour
Doing a few skaven on comission, but I've mostly been working on AoFK and websites for the last week

I knocked up quite a funky little piece today... I've been looking at my E40k Eldar sprues for a while now, wondering if I could come up with some conversions... After seeing the GW studio Ulthwe Jetbike Warlock for 40k in the June WD, I thought I could do the same in Epic....
So I sat down with my clippers and knife, and after much careful slicing and sticking, I finished up with quite a cool little model. Basically what I did was: drilled out the rider torso, and clipped off the right arm. I then chopped the 'Farseer' figure in half at the waist, carefully so as not to damage the arms, and then I sliced the arms off. I modified the left arm, and after gluing the Warlock toso on, I stuck the arm back on. I then just repositioned the right arm with the Singing Spear a bit, stuck it on, and my first real epic conversion was (almost) done....
Once painted, I'm planning on having him commanding my Jetbike host, though I might really finish him off by adding robes round his legs with Green Stuff...
