Hm. ?This time my photos are crappy because they're overexposed. ?I don't think that's happened before. ?Anyway, good 'nuff to show off what I'm trying to do.
I'm trying to collect an Ogre Kingdoms army - dumping dinosaurs and rat monsters during my clearout to concentrate on lardy fellas. ?Maybe because I had a definite fluff motivation for them. ?The idea is that, generations ago, a small tribe of ogres migrated west and settled close to the Moot; where they entered into an understanding with local halflings that was a sight more mutually beneficial than the one with gnoblars back east (thanks to the halflings' greater wits, gumption and culinary expertise, and also their Imperial vote). So they'll take the place of gnoblars in my army, represented by as many C11 halflings as I can scrounge off ebay.
While I'm not really opposed to GW's ogre minis, I think they could stand a little improvement with putty. ?Good thing ogre armies don't need too many individual ogres, but even so I hope to keep things relatively quick and simple. ?It's mostly streamlining - lengthening limbs, shaving down bits that stick out too much for my liking (belly, butt, man-boobs), smoothing out the knobbly brow and teeth. ?Also adding more of an Old World look. Here's my test mini - a basic bull with a club. ?It's sat around collecting dust for months, if not years, and I only recently finished it off by fixing the brow wrinkles.

I like the changes you've made to the original Ogre. I'm looking forward to seeing this bad boy painted.

Nice, a hell of a lot of work though to turn an ugly ogre into an 'ugly' ogre. Have never seen those C11 halflings before, they're nice......I'll try and keep off your toes in the market place but I'm tempted to go alooking meself now.
