Well, after a bit of an RL induced break in the middle of painting this one it's finally done. ![]() This one is (very) loosely based on the concept of Dazzle camouflage, or Razzle Dazzle camouflage depending on who you ask. And let me tell you, this will be the last time I try to paint something like this, especially in reds. (Unless somebody offers me a sizeable amount of money. ![]() Colors used were MSP Bright Red, Fire Orange, Sunlight Yellow, and Leather White for the main colors. Washes were Bright Red mixed at about 3:1 with Muddy Brown to shade the red, Phoenix Red for the orange, Marigold Yellow for the yellows, and Cloudy Grey for the white. Keeping the washes from going into areas they weren't supposed to was a real pain. The pattern outlines were done with Stormy Grey (I think I'm going to need about another gallon of this stuff, it's one of my new favorite colors. I've used it on just about everything I've painted in the past few months.) The weapon barrels are done with a several coats of MSP Gunmetal Blue, another favorite of mine. The base is my usual ballast mixture painted with Apple Barrel Territorial Beige and washed with AB Brown Oxide to match the bases on the rest of the 13th Tchinn Ong. I really like Apple Barrel for base work, it's cheap so I don't feel bad about using so much of it. Enjoy! PS, I haven't forgotten about giving yall a review of the new rules, been having a bit of a CAVgasm the past few weeks. ![]() |

The choice of colours might not be to everyone's taste, but there's no denying it's a clean, crisp paint-job. Well done! ![]() ![]() |

It's an excellent job. I know it works because I have trouble focuing on it... ![]() So I'm switching to IR and calling in a lot of air support. |

Wow. ?Be-ew-tiful. Very nice work. So exactly what background is it supposed to blend into? Something about a camoflage pattern based on High-visibility Orange and "yummy yellow." I hate to say it, but he actually looks kind of cuddly... :-) |

from the bottom of the feet to the top of the rectangular launcher it's 62mm, so about 9.92 meters or 32.55 feet tall if it were to actually exist. |

Decided to make this a running thread rather than start another one. I've had these for over two years now and they are just now getting done. They sat around waiting for me to decide on a color scheme and this past December I finally chose one and got the first two colors for the camo on and promptly got sidetracked with the Emperor, 6mm sci-fi, Christmas, RL etc... So I resolved to work on them a bit each night a few weeks ago and now they're done. The Specter and Wight were actually done last week and the Ghost and Hedgehogs were finished last night. Admittedly not my best work, I was aiming for get them done and on the table. The camo pattern was applied via airbrush and much of the darklining is technical pen augmented with a wash. I've decided that Krylon matte sealer doesn't like to be washed over as it tends to leave spots. You may notice some mold shift on some of them, I assembled these before I knew how awesome Reaper is about replacing miscast pieces and I was too lazy to ask for replacements when I did know. Anyway, here's the pics. Specter ![]() ![]() Wight ![]() ![]() Ghost ![]() ![]() Hedgehogs ![]() ![]() Enjoy, SC |
