Well to keep the ideal of a mini miniature wargame going (and I know there is interest out there for Warmaster), I thought I should post some of the projects that have been taking my time recently. Here is the start: ----------------------------------------- I have 2 units outstanding to help me complete a Chaos Dwarf Warmaster force and I also have a unit to complete for the Dark Elves. First off is the Lammasu. In this I like to support Australian retailers where possible. I purchased my full Chaos Dwarf Army off Eureka Miniatures, and while there I investigated what other models I could make use of. I came across these: This one screamed out to me that the head was perfect for what I needed Nick from Eureka pulled this one out after I had almost given up finding a suitable body for the Lammasu These wings come as standard with the Chaos Dwarf Bull Taurus model he has. They would have to be cut down a little however as they are far too 'long' to be used for correct proportions This guy will be the Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer. I am going to cut him down by half so he does not look too silly sitting on the back of this beast |

...and these were the results after the first week. I still had to wait for the left wing to set, and then start the mane of hair to continue along the body. |

And this was the completed work... ------------------------------------ As I have no delusions that it is going to get any better, that should be the Lammasu and Sorcerer done. ![]() |

That looks brilliant, works really well as a completed piece. |

Here was some of the other stuff I completed: ------------------------------ I started work on the Cauldron of Blood... Khaines left hand holds a knife (spike off a chaos sprue I think), and he will hold a heart in his right hand. I still have to cover up some of the metal left over from the spear that was removed. |

Well in line with keeping Warmaster alive, I finally completed the base work on the Dark Elf Cauldron of Blood. So I have; - an Epic Eldar Avatar acting as Khaine (Knife is a chaos spike and heart is procreate) - the sorceress from the Dark Elf Character pack - 2x Witch elves that I had to painstakingly cut apart from each other and then fix up with procreate - the bowl is made from the predator hatch bits (May do more smoothing on the bowl underside) - the feet are made from basic sprue cut to what I needed - the skulls (ground and bowl) are made from procreate The 'step' on all the minis will be balanced when I do the basing and the skulls will be as if appearing from the ground/grass. Next project - re-modelling the Eureka Minis Great Taurus... |

Hm, i wonder if that avatar conversion would work at 6mm, could use the same idea with the microworld games dread elves. Neat sprue feet ![]() |

Remember it can easily be seen as an Epic piece. As for the "neat sprue feet", yes, I have put all such casts to good use ![]() |

Inspirational stuff and a very good end result, both the Lammasu and the Altar. I love these kinds of projects, so I urge you to keep it up. /Fredmans |

I am currently working on a 2nd Lammasu (with a different look to the first) and the Bull Taurus. They both may take me a little while (maybe the week) before they are ready for a picture |

Getting some more done on the Chaos Dwarf army. I still have to model the legs and tidy this one up a bit but you get the general gist of where this is going; Taurus While I am waiting on the above to dry I have started on the 2nd Lammasu - this one rearing up Lammasu #2 |

I may end up doing another Taurus in the future as I am not happy with the scale of the one that Eureka provide. I think the body that I am using for the Lammasu would be better off as the base for this mini. |

Some very nice stuff. I like the Lammasu. I have too have a warmaster chaos dwarf army in the making. I did some work on it last fall, but don't have anyone to play so I haven't worked on it since. I'd like to finish the army at some point though. I have some questions if you have the time. I've been going for the big hat look as well and I'd like to ask what piece is it you have used for the taurus riders hat? I mainly used the ends of 28mm high elf spears (I use GW dwarfs and file their helmets of and put big hats in place instead). Were's the miniature sorcerer from that you've used for your lammasu rider? Is it a eureka mini as well? Btw good idea for the death rocket artillery piece I think I might do something similar. cheers |

Hi Borka Happy to help out where I can. All the Dwarves used are from Eureka's Chaos Dwarves or 10mm Dwarf range. The 'Big Hat' you see on the Taurus is a Chaos Dwarf cut in half, and the hat I fashioned with Procreate (took me 3 days! - I am not that good at all). The spike was hard to find as GW make flat spikes. I finally found a round spike on the Flagellant ball and chain so I cut one off to go on his hat. If I get time I will also put the arrow on the front of the big hat to really emphasize the item. The miniature Sorcerer is also from Eureka. I have a spare so happy to organise something if you want it. PM me to see if we can do a two-way trade for stuff. The rocket launcher was a very cheap alternative so yeah, I was happy with it. I am using Battle of the Five Armies orcs for my Hobgoblins and wolf riders. Are you doing the same? I also put together a bolt thrower from some Eureka mini parts (I must get a pic up of it sometime). What did you go with for the bolt thrower? Good to see someone else on here with some Warmaster (and Chaos Dwarves at that!) ![]() |
