Hello chaps,

i have a few questions regarding the CAV range of models.

Firstly, what scale are they? Are they 10mm, n scale??, truescale????, or 6mm?????

More importantly, would the mechs work as proxy titans? Not Imperial titans, but generic ones, what im after is an idea of their size, say compared to a imperial warlord etc.

Finally, can they be bought in the UK, or do i have to order them from the US?

Cheers for any help, some of the mechs look very nice indeed.

Steve.

Hi there....

Umm... Yes! Officially, I think that they are N-Scale, which is almost-10mm, although they are sometimes heroic 10mm. However, the vehicles were originally produced at a smaller scale to make them cheaper. Some vehicles were then re-visited and produced at 'truescale', so 10mm in line with the CAVs. This is why there are sometimes two packs of the same vehicle (ie Flail)

Be careful, as the line is being handed over to a third party, and when they are produced there, they will be smaller (although this is not the case right now as the line has not been moved, and Reaper say that they will continue to produce the current scaled line).

They are a little small for Titans. Some of the larger ones (Ogre, etc) is approximately Reaver sized, but even then a little small for this. They would probably work better as Warhounds, but I dont have a comparrison to hand right now.

MiniFigs used to carry a reasonable line here in the UK. However, they seem to have gone now. I get mine direct, as shipping is not too bad considering they are coming from the US. Be careful, however. I have recently been picking up a load of CAV packs to boost my ranks. I have been ordering them in packs of four. For this, shipping comes in at about ten pounds... but then customs charges adds an additional eight or nine pounds, and Parcelforce adds another eight pound ransom before they will hand it over! ???

Hi Cybershadow,

Thanks for the reply, looks like i wont be bothering then. Shame really as they do look nice, im looking for some warhound size (ish) walkers to add to my DRM pax army. With the price of the CAV stuff i thought it must be pretty big, but it just seems they may be overpriced, and with all the P+P and other dramas, it will end up getting a bit expensive.

Anyone have any suggestions for decent Titan proxies? Roughly Warhound sized?

Cheers
Steve.

Hi. Maybe my brain is playing tricks on me, as I have found this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=45&t=18005

I can grab my CAV minis and take some scale shots if you like. Drop me a PM if this would be useful to remind me.
