Would anyone have a picture for the 10mm wolves from Copplestone Castings in comparison with Epic scale Marines? CC has a picture but it doesn't show them in a comparitive way.

Cheers all!

No idea, but if you do go to buy them, let me know and I may go halves on postage with a set for myself as well (cost and scale being a factor here).

Also look at Warmaster Goblim wolf riders. They may be an easy conversion...

Cheers....

I've got the Wargs from GW Battle of Five Armies box set, which are 10mm in scale. I'm at work at the moment so I can't confirm right now, however going from memory, they'd be a fair size larger than an Epic Space Marine. I'll take a pic when I get home late tonight and post it here.

I've got the wolf riders Dobbsy. They're the same models as the wolves, just with a rider. I can get you a picture if you want, in a day or two.

Awesome, thanks lads. I have been searching for pics of the BOTFA wargs and wolves too but there don't seem to be any close ups anywhere, let alone a way to buy any.

So here's a front shot;

....and a side shot;

....and this is the sprue they come on;

You can see that the Wargs are much taller than the Space Marines. This is considerably due to the bases though. If you notice the sprue above, the Wargs are moulded onto a rather thick strip which then gets attached/glued to the plastic base. This causes them to stand quite tall. You could remove the Wargs from this strip and mount them seperately on a thin base (a Litko laser cut wood one or some plastic card ) and it would bring the height of the Wargs down considerably. I think that they would probably still stand taller than the Space Marines however. I guess they would equate in size to a very large Draught horse, I suppose.

I don't know how big the Fenrisian Wolves are supposed to be.....but they'd want to be pretty friggin big for these Wargs to fit the bill.

I believe they're usually described as horse sized; those look quite a lot bigger.

They might slot in for a Thunderwolf if someone wanted to model one but yeah a bit big for FWs.

For wolves that are meant to carry Space Marines, I really do not see a major issue with these guys.

For tourneys they may grind on some player's nerves, but for home games, they are fine to me.

Hiya,

Just browsing here after a bit of an abscence. If you are looking to mount 6mm space marines on a wolf then you may wish to check out Baccus fantast golblins section -- their 6mm scale wolfriders may be the right scale for you. Other than that I would suggest checking out irregular miniatures 'cos they do all sorts of weird and odd bits in all scales.

I think he found some....or had someone find some in a pile of GS.
