Hi!

I've been thinking of new game systems and eras for which conversions of current GW rulesets could be made, for the use of Warhammer Historical - and in my view, we have an ideal candidate system for such an effort.

Already we have armies which take a lot of 'inspiration' from specific armed forces seen over the last hundred or so years - the Baran Siegemasters, the Steel Legion and the Tau Empire have their analogues in historical (or contemporary) armies and air forces.

So, how about having a go here at TC at cooking up just such a conversion, and sending it to Warhammer Historical for consideration?

After all, Epic Armageddon isn't going by all that quickly...

What do you think?

Gary

sounds interetsing?!

So only real weakness is the limted range of armor values.

If we went modern, I'd have to suggest using the 2nd edition armor rules (Yuck!).  Given that limitation, I'd have to suggest WW1, to minimize the number of vehicles in play.

Actually, I think I'd rather see Spanish-American war to WW1  (you know, US Marine Interventions in South America).  One side of pretty well-trained troops against a larger number of lesser trained troops.

Someone adapted the EA rules to modern warfar a while back.  No need to reinvent the wheel.

Probably your best bet for getting a copy is to check with Maksim and/or his 6mm Yahoo group.

Hi Gary,

I only have hard copy and not electronic copy of my adaptation of the Epic rules to modern and WWII warfare.

I initially used the SM-2 engine way back when and then later adapted the E-40k engine. I haven't tried E-A yet.

Please E-mail me offboard and we can discuss more.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I don't beleive that epic would work for anything WWII and beyond, historicaly. The reason being the D6 system. The D6 works OK for epic because those vehicles are not historical. If anything has a hope of working half way decent using epic for modern then at least a D10 system should be utilised.
