Good news everybody! The USSR just invade Europe! Oh wait that is bad news..... well either way your going to war and your gonna need some stats to do that with. my dad and I have been working on stat lines for Cold war 1980's armies that we can use in the NETEA rules! below is a PDF of the stat lines so far! keep in mind this is the first time we are doing something like this so there are bound to be items that we missed

I will use this thread for battle reports and a continually updating of that stat lines as we role them out. This is fairly unofficially but any comments or suggestions and even play testing battle reports are welcome! Don't be afraid to start developing armies for your countries that you wanna play!

Excellent initiative! I have been developing a set of Swedish 6mm armour, thinly veiled in grimdark attire. These are available for 3D printing. I will follow this with great interest. Is it the standard 80's Fulda gap thing you are focusing or is it earlier stuff too?

would love to see a list for it if you have the motivation to throw one together! For now me my dad are going to be focusing of fulda gap 1980s. Once I'm done with the soviets, I'm likely hood gonna move onto the french. I think the next major stop for us will be the middle east. i want to develop stuff for the IDF and the merkav in particular. Wanna see how i can show off its funky design and the 60mm mortar that i has on it.

if we can really get this train going i love to see some ww2 stuff at some point in time.

For that setting I'd suggest targeting the 60's-70's timeframe. The open combat of that period of Arab - Israeli conflict probably would suit better than the asymmetrical warfare that we faced from the 80's on.

diffidently the place to look for IDF and the middle east in general. I just wrapped up fire and steel which is about the IDF 7th armored brigade. But this idea is a while off, unless someone wants to start developing it now "wink, wink, nudge, nudge"

I might do that!

Lists look nice I think. One thing struck me. Why humvee, but no AH-64?

OK. That was a tight timeframe! Early cold war for me is late 40’s to 60’s

Some feedback/questions. The stats for the M1A1, is that with the german 120mm or the L7 105? I am starting to dabble with the swedish list and would like to use your sketch as a template and reference

M1A1 didn't enter into service until around '86

Ah. That's right... The A1 is the 120 mm variant. That answers my question :D However, not so good if the list is to depic forces up to -84 i suppose. Either move the timing back a bit or forward a bit?

Post subject:  Re: RED ALERT!! NETEA goes hot!

given these timing issues i think the easiest thing to do would be to move the timing up to 85-86 era. At this point in time the T-80 is more prevalent in the soviet army but the modernized variant of the T-72 was still used. I think the next step we will take with this is going to be looking more closely at the 1985 period and what the two sides had then. The reason we went with the M1A1 was due in part to my dads memory of how the M1 was supposed to have a 120mm but congress wanted all the parts to be made by american manufactures and designed in the US. I still haven't found info to back this up, i will be looking into that. in the mean time my dad and I will be doing a battle report tomorrow. I suspect in the next few weeks will will throw out a new version of the stats and special rules. I think I'm gonna move it over to a master google doc that people can view but not edit.

Thanks for the feed back so far! Keep it coming!

Hi Nitpik,
Thanks for the comments. I am working with KingZog on this (it is our Summer Quarantine project)

Compared to the Cobra, what kind of a stat line would you give to the Apache?

The other question I have is should the Cobra (or the Apache) be able to carry rocket pods as well AT missiles?
Rocket Pods on the Hinds are pretty deadly!

Hi Everyone,
I am working with KingZog on this project (it is our Summer quarantine project) and it has been a lot of fun so far.
One thing to note is that our points ratings are all high right now. Given the points values on these charts, we are playing with 4000 points and that has given us some comfortable games with 2 or 3 strong core formations and an appropriate amount of support. We starting by rating the M1A1 at 100 its per tank. I think we could easily go to 5000 its and have a nice sized battle. We will have to rescale the points at sometime to bring them into alignment with the standards.

Also note that the West Germans are incomplete and need to be updated. We have someone working on that.

Looking forward to comments on this. We will have a battle report sometime today.
