Well I know I have been quiet lately so let me explain was has caught my current "AADD" attention span. ?Of course sucking me into a new game is about as easy as getting ?Vanvlak to do a weird cool conversion of something. ?Send him bits your see... Well anyway we have been playing Canvas eagles blue max at the Club. the I noticed Fantasy flight's new miniatures for thier Wings of War game. ?I could care less about the rules because I have more rules sitting on my shelf than I know what do to with. ? I picke dup the last three at the local store because they were flying of the shelves...I guess I just made a pun I mounted them onto the flight stand I recently got for my WWII air combat game and AI. ?(More lately) I had a friend who was interested in flying games so yesterday I taught him how to play Canvas Eagles/Blue max. I got to try out my new Hotz arts game mats as well. ? We played two scenarios and I have pictures and a story of how things came out. ? All pictures were taken by my freind George. They are pretty good for a camera phone. So thanks do him for the pics and playing Lets see how our WWI flying ace did... |

In the first game I hope to teach them the basics. ?It was early 1917. ?A lone German recon plane, a Roland CII, has ventured over the lines to check on French troop build up. Roland CII Models, ?? But unfortuantely for the recon bird a pair for French neophyte pilots are on patrol in their Spad VII's. In our game the Roland was proxied by a Albatros DV, may the laord of WSIYIG forgive me, ?

In the first half the the game the Roland Moves toward it's objective while the Spads move up to altitude and try to find the blind sopt on the two-seater. |

The Roland uses sneaky Hun tactics of sideslipping to avoid the gun fire of the Spads. The newbie pilots were not expecting such aggresive manuevers from the old bird they sometimes overshoot the target and have to resposition. In the meantine the tail gunner sends a few bullets there way. |

At one point the Spads got on my tail while thr Roland tried to break for home. The hit had the devasting result of jaming the ruffer and the gunner was knocked out cold. It looked bad for the Roland as it lumbed it's way back the way it came. Doing a full circle at point point the French flight leader eager for a kill moved in aggresively. but the crafty hun cut speed and the Spad fell into the pilots gunsight. Unleashing his spandau the Spad had his tail blown off and began spiraling down to the earth. |

The other French pilot decided to leave the cranky old bird alone, especially when it appeared the Gunner had recovred from his wound. The German delivered their valuable photos back HQ. |

In the second game we played a one on one duel. The Roland was now converted to a Albatross DIII. The Spad VII was a little racier, but the German had the twin guns. It is hard with fairly equal and pilots and planes to line up on the target so there was a great deal of maneuvering across the flanders sky. The DIII |

Things went on like this until the French pilot performed a Imelmann to reverse his course and go head to head on the albatros. The Huns luck ran out as a bullet entered the cockpit and severely wounded the pilot. It seems the French pilot would have his revenge. |

Wounded and barely able to control his plane the Albatros cannot shake his agressive French antagonist. The Spad gets on the huns tail and more bullets batter the german scout. C'est la Guerre"? |
