A 1000 point raid mission conducted at night!

Germans have six sentries and five objectives, everything else held in random reserves.

Two SAS and one LRDG patrols deploy 16" away from sentry positions.

Raiders move into range and start destroying objectives with incendiary ammunition:

Germans kindly do not receive any reinforcements until turn 3, allowing the raiders to destroy all the objectives!  But here comes the panzers:

And Grenadiers:

And armored cars; these guys arrived and shot up one jeep patrol pretty good:

SAS make their escape (an objective of the scenario):

LRDG evac also under fire from the Panzers:

SAS jeeps leave the armored cars in the dust:

LRDG with Panzers to the rear and Infantry just arrived ahead, stuck in the middle!

Two trucks are lost in the escape but the platoon remains intact and escapes:

Major Allied victory with a total of 6 objectives destroyed and all 3 patrols intact (LRDG were above 50% casualty; SAS-1 only one jeep and and extra crew survived but not broken; SAS-2 was just under 50% casualties but still intact).

It was a fun and short scenario; I really thought I was going to get away scott free since the German player did not make any reserve rolls the first few turns.  The fearless veteran SAS barely made their 3+ motivation rolls.

Not knowing anything about FoW, it sounds like if a reserve roll was made on turn #1, things would have been itchy for the Brits.  Is that typical of most games or was it a scenario thing?

Thanks for the bat rep and the models look great! :agree:

In FOW a reserve roll is made on a 5+ on a D6.  On turn 1 you get one die, turn two 2 dice, etc...  Each positive result means you may bring in one platoon of your choosing.  With scattered reserves, the newly arrived platoon enters the board from a random position.
