The 116. Panzer Division, Panzer Regiment 16 is the focus for my Flames of War (late war) German Panzer Company.  This roster uses the FE1 list currently, though I understand that the roster remains the same under FE2 as well.  Thus far, the force as it stands...

Company HQ
2x Panzer IV-H

Combat Platoons
4x Panzer IV-H
3x Panzer IV-H
4x StuG
3x Panther A

Weapons Platoons
3x Mobelwagen
3x Panzer II-L (Luchs)

Divisional Support
Armoured Panzer Pioneers
- Command Team w/ Pioneer Halftrack, Supply Maultier
- 3 Squads w/ total of 6 Pioneer Halftracks

Thus far, the force has only played in a few 1000pt skirmishes between a fairly equal Polish Armoured Company.  Even outnumbered, the Veteran status of the StuGs and Panzers in the list makes the difference between draws and victories.  I'm pretty happy with the force thus far, but figure that until I can make this force work for me (and learn what I'm supposed to be doing with it in the process), I'll not continue purchasing models.

So, for those of you who care to, I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer on the best well-rounded lists available from the above units for 1000, 1500, and 1750 point lists, as well as your ideas on the proper ways to handle these units in-game.

I've seen some awesome modeling here on TacCom, and the FoW efforts have not disappointed.  I'll be posting my efforts in the near future and look forward to your comments there as well.

Cheers all.

It is rather light on infantry and not much for air defense, if anything.  I like the armor but you can end up with a one trick pony.

I did notice that tank battles tend to be dice-a-thons more than anything else...  At 1500pts and up, I plan on using the full platoon of Panzerpioneers with Panzers, Stugs, and maybe Mobelwagens but most likely Panzer II's for the recce.  The Panthers would not show up until 1750 or more.  Does that sound better?

Honestly, we've yet to reach a point where infantry have made an appearance in our games.  We've only managed 4 games in over 4 months, lol.  Our next will include infantry, we've already decided, and the full platoon of panzerpioneers have been painted up and are awaiting their first run.  Hopefully, that unit will add a bit more complexity to our games.

Definitely need more infantry.

I know you're running a Panzer Regt, but Late-War germans are better as an infantry force.  Mechanized infantry works better in Midwar (unless you're in the cities).

You definitely need another infantry platoon:  Maybe some begleit tank-riders?

It will really depend on the types of scenarios, terrain, other players on how that list or infantry will do.  Armor is great you just don't want all your eggs in one basket.

In my recent games my opponent fields a similar force to yours; I pound his armor with air support and he can do nothing but suffer it.

So 3 Mobelwagens and 7 AA MGs from the halftracks won't do for anti-air coverage?

Are the mobelwagons air defense?  The AA on the tracks are just point defense AA, only rolls 1 die if you are attacking them, they cannot cover the tanks.

Mobelwagens:  AA platform based on the Panzer IV chassis.  ROF:4  AT:5  FP:4+ (I think, though this might be just a tad off).  Can target air and ground forces equally with 24" range.

Ah, okay artillery barrage then on the mobelwagons then hit the panzers with aircraft!  :p
