Based on the Epic Armageddon Rules Set, we have developed a variant along with armies lists for World War II. Attached is a brief description of our overall concept and some special rules for both WW II generally and specific national characteristics. For those who are interested, we will be play texting this at the Time Machine in Connecticut on Saturday, May 7th. We are also running a demonstration game at Huzzah (https://mhwa.info) in Maine on May 13th in the afternoon. Please post any questions or comments. Nick Gross Ben Gross Eric McGrath

I likely won't be down for the next games day, but here's some feedback for you upon a quick readthrough. The Half BP rule is unnecessary, EA already handles it via the rule on rounding fractions. Squat Mole Mortars used to have 1/2 BP. Breaking CC and FF up into AP/AT shouldn't cause issues (I wish EA did this from the start). Effectively the opponent will just end up with a pool of AP CC&FF attacks to allocate and another of AT CC&FF hits to allocate in each assault. The presentation though could be better, I'd go with something like this: Code: Name Type Speed Armour CC FF US Infantry INF 15cm - AP5+ AP6+/AT6+ It mixes two presentations that players are already familiar with: separate CC and FF columns, and AP/AT values from a weapon's Firepower column. One column for all that information is going to cause confusion. What's with the "(against infantry)" in the notes for the tanks? That "No firing penalty for double", make it a special rule like Sniper so it can be put on weapons or units. |

Ya, that stabilized or stable all sound good. It might worth including marshal's -1 in there in addition to double's as well. Or maybe not, that -1 might be due to the unit's being yelled at and distracted by NCOs, rather than their movement. You could add unstable too, i.e. not getting the +1 from sustain. |

Related, breaking Infiltraor into two parts would have be good. Since you're doing your own thing it's something to consider. Infiltrate: can ignore enemy ZoC Stormtrooper: can double charge distance when assaulting |

Unfortunately, we can't make Huzzah! but we will be providing demo games in the Boston Metro area and at the Time Machine for those in CT. any news about this project? I am with one of my own and I think our ideas are quite close. I would like to help them see if we can complement our work or I can continue theirs if they leave. |
