I'm going to be playing in a 500 point Steamroller tournament at my local shop this Saturday. I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions for a 500 point Khador force. I can have 2 different lists done up before the event.
Off the top of my head (I don't have the cards in fronr of me) I was thinking along these lines:
Vlad Tzepesci Manhunter solo Doom Reavers unit Widowmakers unit with Kell Bailoch Juggernaut Devastator -or- Man-O-War Shocktroopers & Ogrun Bokur
For a second list I was thinking of rotating Greylord Ternion in for the Ogrun Bokur to hunt down Cryx Machine/Pistol Wraiths and maybe replacing Vlad with Sorscha.
Comments?

personally i would use Iron fangs (IF) not doom reavers (DR)... dont forget DR will kill each other if not carefull compared to a IF unit, paticularly with an officer can nail jacks easily, leaving the jugger free to hold up infantry whist the widowmakesr snipe them off whist there engaged...(yes its dirty but funny)

Blarg, I don't play WM and don't have any models - so I can't help - but can I make an appeal for pics, please? I like these beasties.

I love the MoW DCs backing up the MoW STs with the Widows and Greylords backing them up. Mortars are also good under Vlad's S&P. And I almost always take the Behemoth. It and Vlad were made for each other, what with those wonderful AP fists whacking a brittle frosted jack or those cool bombards which can shoot whether engaged or running or charging or trampling.
Go Khador!
This is a list I like to use:
Vlad Behemoth MoW Drakhun MoW DCx5 MoW STx3 Eiryss
Alternatively:
Vlad Behemoth MoW Drakhun MoW DCx5 Greylords Widowmakers
Both lists exactly 500 points on the dot.

I don't have any pictures from the tournament, nor any of my miniatures. I have several of the Warjacks painted, but working on my masters has prevented me from painting as much as I want. That should be changing in a couple of weeks.
THE TOURNAMENT
I came up with two lists before the tournament, one for use against Cryx with Kommandant Irusk and one for everybody else with Vlad. Unit selection is a bit constrained because I don't have everything assembled, let alone painted. Here are the lists from memory:
Force #1 Kommandant Irusk Berserker Heavy Warjack Man-O-War Shocktrooper (x3) Doomreavers Widowmakers Greylord Ternion Manhunter Alexia Ciannor (mercenary)
Force #2 Vlad Tzepesci Devastator Heavy Warjack Juggernaut Heavy Warjack Widowmakers Winter Guard (x6) Winter Guard Mortar Manhunter Ogrun Bokur (mercenary)
I ended up wining the first game, losing the second game, and tieing (within a dice roll or two of winning) the last two. My points total was about 8 out of 16, not bad considering this was my first tournament and the closeness of the two tie games.
The highlights for me were:
In the first game my 3x remaining Doomreavers tearing apart a Sataxys Raider's squad and a bonejack.
In the second game not losing too badly to the best Cryx player of the tournament and his 6x Nightwretches. Concentrated fire from the Widowmakers was able to take out one Nightwretch a turn.
In the third game learning just how nasty the Menoth cavalry are. My Ogrun Bokur was able to slam one of the cavalry knights into another. (I surprised him with that.) The Widowmakers were able to tear apart the Cleansers in pretty short order.
The fourth game was a kill-the-caster game and I was able to get my Manhunter and Doomreavers into melee with Skarre. (The other guy wasn't too bright.) Too bad I could only hit once; she lived.
Fun and greuling, I'm going to paint more stuff up before I play again.

Hi Blarg
I have played Warmachine about half a dozen times so far so still pretty new to it. I have some Khador figures as I liked some of the models- the Man O War and Iron Fangs are just awesome figures.
However my main force to start with will be Cygnar. I have already painted up the basic box set, (i.e. Stryker, Ironclad, Charger & Lancer) and am adding some more for variety (Defender, Sentinel & Haley)- so far these are undercoated and basecoated. After that it will be some trrops and solos with Long Gunners, Trenchers & Journeyman Warcaster- so far they have been assembled and primed.
Once I finish that lot I should be close to 1,000 points, with 2 separate 500 point forces. That should give me enough to learn to play the game properly. After that any reinforcements will be down to what figures I like. Gun Mages, Stormblades and Sword Knight all look cool figures as does the Stormclad & Thunderhead. Nemo and Caine both appeal as well- less sure about Darious and Siege Brisbane.
Cheers
James
