Having loved the Warmaster Araby army when it came out, I thought it might be fun to put something together similar but in 6mm. ![]() This Army is being put together for use with Mayhem!(http://www.wargamevault.com/product/110359/Mayhem) but based 40mmx20mm to be potentially usable in either Warmaster/DBA etc. The main inspiration is Warmaster, though I’ve also drawn from Pre-Islamic Mythology and the Thousand and One Nights. Models are a mixture of Baccus, Rapier and Irregular. Hope you enjoy – The Baccus and Rapier models are wonderfully detailed and were a real joy to paint. Click on the thumbnails for bigger pictures. ![]() The Army on the March ![]() ![]() Some closeups, with more daylight. ![]() Units from left to right: Camel Riders, Rocs, Cavalry, Spearmen, Archers, Sultan on Flying Carpet, Sultans guard, Ghost Cavalry(To represent summoned units/mirage), Elephants. ![]() And here’s a selection of some of the units I’ll post as they get painted: Dragon(In Pre-Islamic Mythology Djinni’s can take this form), chariots, artillery, Sultan on carpet with standard bearer, a lone Assassin, Sultan on Horseback, horse archers, heavy infantry , and giant scorpions with beastmaster. ![]() As well as the Army’s centrepiece: ![]() ![]() As this is my first painting blog, C&C/advice of either my painting or photography skills welcome! I’d really like to add some Whirling dervishes or Arab swordsman to this army. Lots of choices for these in the bigger scales, but does anyone know where I might find models for these in 6mm? (Though pretty much any models with dual curved swords I’d be interested in.) Any recommendations on good Arab Castles/Mosques that would be right for this scale would also be appreciated. Cheers ![]() |

Photography wise, I'm no expert at all, but I think you should photograph without the light being behind the subject of your photography - it seems the light (window, I'm guessing) is coming from behind and to the right of the models, and it produces subpar photos. Try and have daylight lamp or 2 pointing at the models from the front and/or sides of your camera's Point of View. . Having looked at the photos again, I think you're spot on! Don't have a daylamp, but will try with the next update to at least get more daylight on the front of the models, and maybe use a proper camera rather than just my mobile. Cheers ![]() |

The Djinn is from reaper miniatures - not one they sell Anymore, but of all the Djinn's I looked at it was so the best ![]() Quite easy to find on ebay as I think it was a popular model |

The whole army looks great, but the Djinni really steals the show for me [in a good way!]. I love the posing of the sorcerer on the base with him- nice detail. ![]() |
