Hi all!

I am thinking of sourcing some of the old Warmaster terrain from GW to be used with 6mm fantasy.
Commonly most 10mm scale range's should work just fine with 6mm miniatures…

However, at this years Salute i stood in front of Kallistra's beautiful 10mm castle/fortress terrain and was surprised to realise that it's way too big for 6mm. :o

My question now, would anybody be able to provide a scale comparison picture of popular pieces like the 'Wizard Tower' or even the 'Wizard Castle' next to some 6mm infantry?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,

MrG

remember Kallistra's stuff is pretty huge, their models are definitely more than 10mm scale, Paul from Kallistra confirmed that they're 12mm scale (1:144) to me via email a while ago

also fun fact, Paul is my old woodwork teacher from high school, I helped him playtest his space dreadnought 3000 game back in my teens!

I can confirm what kyussinchains said, I have the Kallistra castle myself (although it is located at a friend's). Interestingly enough, the castle looks better than the FW one, at least size-wise. The FW castle is pretty small, the ramparts only go as far as the hips of the miniatures. Might even be suitable for 6 mm.

Only thing I can offer picture-wise is some shots with a few of Timecast's 6 mm buildings; I think I have 2 or 3, I could take pictures for you if you are interested.

cheers,

It's about 10mm ... IMO it works fine for 6mm ... I have the Ork Village ... Image Most 10-12mm terrain works for 6mm ... structures are large ....

Aye! :)
As soon as i stop being too bloody busy to finish up my pre-Heresy 1k Sons Minigeddon force i'd like to start a 6mm fantasy army.
Either Microworld's mole man, MW's undead or Irregular's snake cult :D
*probably order all of them anyway, haha

Me and some of the peeps from the Central London Wargames Club gave Bombshell Games's Mayhem a try and are really liking it.
Though i personally will use a 40x20mm basing scheme to be able to use the army for other rule systems as well. ;)

Sounds good man. I'm working on a ruleset for microworld games miniatures if you want a third option.

I know ;)

While Mayhem likely becomes our default rule set, i was already thinking about bringing up Wartorn for a couple test games.
Of course, we would provide feedback for you afterwards! :)

That would be fantastic! I recently had some interest in a Lizardmen army list so i am almost ready to release it. Next up will be the molemen army list. The magic point system is coming for a revamp soon as well, it's basic just to get it into the game so people can use it.

True ... may be check on eBay for those old terrain pieces ? I use my Ork Vill for my Epic Snake Bitz Feral Orks for Epic:A ... it's a big galaxy, so all types of terrain could be encountered ... including castles or the primative wood structures of the Snake Bitz Orks ... You see "similar" structures in Africa or the Amazon today ... 8)

For my Epic Lizardmen, I use DRM Kray, Exodus Wars Terragin and CinC Raptors, I made this Aztec like terrain - Image Using GW LoTR's terrain, GW bitz, etc., and stuff from here - http://www.stonehouseminiatures.com/buildingsruins/ Though much of it is 15mm, it fits in fine for 6mm as those type structures are huge in the real world ... Note they also make 6mm Stone Henge ...
