Hi Have recently got into playing the new Battletech Alpha Strike game. Love it as a chance to dabble in another of my favourite in-game universes but with out the excessive bookkeeping of the main game. Sllimmed down quick strike rules means get to play with more toys on the table top. I already have a full Battalion of mechs but am now looking to add some vehicles. Ral Partha Europe have a few vehicles, but they can be quite pricey, at UK£6-UK£8 for usually 1-2 tanks. Plus they don't have the complete range and don't want to risk getting clobbered with high postage and potentially high customs charges by ordering from Iron Wind Metals in US. So I am looking for some proxies form UK 6mm manufacturers. Specifically after variety of 6mm hover vehicles to represent: -J Edgar Light Hover Tank 25 tons: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/J._Edgar - Harasser Missile Platform 25 tons: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Harasser -Plainsman Medium Hover Tank 35 tons: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Plainsman - Condor Heavy Hover Tank 50 tons: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Condor_%28Combat_Vehicle%29 -Drillson Heavy Hover Tank 50 tons: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Drillson I also need 10 ton Hover Scout tank- no picture that I can find, so it's more finding something heavier than the 5 ton Savannah Master but smaller than the 25 tonners above. I have looked at the likes of GZG but can't find any decent pictures of their 6mm range. So I am hoping that you guys will have some better pictures of 6mm hover vehicles from your model collection. I also need some VTOL's but though best to concentrate on one thing at a time with hovers. Thanks very much James |

hehe. I played a game of this a while back and it was all right, but seemed to be a lot of nothing and then everything dies. Felt the always active movement modifiers were a bit much. Have you looked up any of the Reaper line or Plasmablast games stuff for hovercraft? |

For something compatible with the "high tech" sci-fi of battletech i would look to brigade. The Pac'Fed' look ideal to me : http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/6mmSF/PacFed.html Or maybe the euro fed ? Great service and great prices. Otherwise, for a less hard sci-fi look try Dark Realm Kretorians, or if you wanted to go outside of the UK, plasma blast maybe ? |

Thanks guys. Blip- those PacFed hovers look interesting. Agree that they look more hard sci-fi. I have bought spaceship models from Brigade in the past and they are good value for money and good service. Would be good to get several different hovers all with same design aesthetic. Thanks very much James |
