Greetings,

As part of the next Airspace AI Campaign, I have been toying around with a Tyranid Sky Swarm list. It is in the early stages, and I would like your feedback.

What am I missing, how does it play, are there glaring problems or issues? I hope to have it finished and ready for the campaign in August.

well, the Hag references weapon loadouts, but includes none
and the Talons all refer to "daemonically infused" which is both incorrect, and infact, i believe impossible given the way the hive mind and the warp interact

obviously i've not actually tested it out, but I don't see how a force with a maximum speed of 4 wont just be decimated. any opponent worth their salt would surely just use their superior speed to ensure the nids never get decent targetting opportunities.
combine the fact that the nids will largely never get to engage on their own terms, with the requirement for base to base contact, and I don't really see how talons will ever get used either

I'm not exactly accomplished in the field of AI, but I'm not sure I see how this list is supposed to work at all? Is it a "take sporeback on everything, treat them like aggressive ground defences and hope for the best?" strategy?

Thanks Jagged. I see there are some copy/paste errors. Obviously they can not be Daemonically infused, and the other weapons load thing must just be a carry-over. Thanks for pointing that out so I can get it fixed. I'm terrible at proof-reading and hence why I need some help.

Yeah, Talons are not that useful, which is why they also have ranged weapons. However, it wouldn't be Nids without a talon attack!

The speed thing vexed me for a long time as well. However, I have seen people using "slow" lists do well and "fast" lists do poorly. The key for Nids will be outnumbering, overlapping fire arcs, good wingman tactics, and careful use of Initiative order to move the "chaff" units first. Therefore, the tactics of the Nids could be very rewarding compared to other races since they are very different.

All of that sounds good in theory, but in practice may not work at all. Hence why I need help playtesting!
