FYI- Hello fellow 6mm enthusiasts! I would like to announce that Darkest Star Games is now open! http://www.darkeststargames.com/ We recently snapped up Adler's "Dark Star" 6mm sci-fi line when it became available, and it is once again available for purchase. Even better news: we have retained Mr. Locke as our 6mm Dark Star designer, and will be adding to the range soon! And as if that wasn't enough, if you game in larger scales you may be pleased to hear that we will be up-sizing the Dark Star range to 15mm size, and that we also carry our own nascent 60's-pulp style 15mm sci-fi range with more planned to arrive in the near future. So, please drop on by and let us know what you think. We would love o hear from you! Happy gaming, Darby Eckles Darkest Star Games |

Yeah those are nice alternative views Going to take the splash and see how they work out. Getting a 6FD5- Lancer GMBT and 6FD6- Stormer GIFV set for their turrets. ![]() when they arrive I'll do some comparison shots and if they're kosher, I'll add them to the proxy list; if not, no big whoop |

Maybe hold off until tuesday. See response to my query -- "Hello Lyle! All codes are currently available, we just need tot get the pictures taken and up. This should be done by late tomorrow (US central standard time). We will also be changing the infantry coding tomorrow to a "per strip" format to allow for maximum user customization of their troops without having to be stuck with extra or unwanted figures. If you can hold off until Tuesday morning you will sill be able to take advantage of the free shipping as well as being able to see all pictured to help in your purchase decisions. Thank you, Darkest Star Games" I dont think the free shipping wil apply to Oz. |

OK got my order during the last week. 1st, shipping was amazingly fast. Maybe they were bored and just frantically clicking "check email" when I ordered. Maybe they're just fantastic like that. 2nd, the units are far larger than I was expecting. (see comparison pics) 3rd, for being hover floating grav tanks they fit in fine with something like GEV / OGRE / Batttletech just great. I personally bought them for turrets. That being said I'd purchase far more if they put together a bits service where I can buy individual components. Here's the pic between a current predator (based on Small FoW base) and a 3rd edition Hellhound (sans turret and tanks - I'm converting them for chimeras) against a 6FD5- Lancer GMBT and 6FD6- Stormer GIFV line. Attachment: Summary: Good stuff if you hard scifi. Casting quality is fine for the price though the details are a wee bit low IMO but perhaps I've been spoiled by some of the now OOP unofficial products [shrugs]. Great customer service and a decent price. The selections I made have great potential as conversion bits for the existing range of Grim Dark TM products as well as fit great in many other universes. Give them an 8 / 10 stars. Good stuff!! Once I get my next batch of preds I'll be using those turrets as proxies for BA burninators and the smaller ones to round out my chimeras with some visual distinctions. |
