Fellow gamers, I just got to ask!

Why no greater following of the Alfakta campaign?
It's easy as pie to join and you can win great prizes.
On your own part you just make sure the battle to be fought is to be included and then report the result.

What's the hook-up?

I can get this thing to take almost any shape and form.
Including a group specific map for a gaming group to run their campaign on.
Any map can be used and any economics can be used too.
(It can also evolve into a MMORPG, but that's a bit outside this group.)

What's the hook-up?

Beats me... I think it's a great idea, and yes prizes too!! I've certainly made sure I've registered all my games.

Just out of the action at the moment as I'm busy with shifting house and jobs...

More advertising.

Get in touch with Warseer's Firebase.

Ask me politely (send me a mail with an add that is  :vD  ) and I'll give you a whole page in the next Warp Rift.

Sorry!  I'll get the kids together this weekend and we'll fight an Iron Cow battle or two!

Hi there, I'm Warhead and you may know me from various antics like... emailing Jervis Johnston for his height (6'3") ...and...  My Government the Banana Eating Monkey Spankers... well, I'm here personally to tell you that a battle just isn't worth the effort if you haven't posted the result on the Alfakta campaign. I should know because I've signed up. It couldn't be simpler.

Now go and register right away. Last one there is a Sissy Mary... 8v)

I can't speak for others but I checked out the site a while back and I couldn't make head nor tails of it.  I just looked again and it is still pretty incomprehensible.  Perhaps a front page with a decent description of what the campaign is about and how people can get involved, and why they should bother might help.

Actually that might be a good point, one of my friends expressed similar sentiments.

Maybe a very clear and to the point front page...

What is it?

What are the prizes?

How do I sign up and what do I do?

Stated as parsimoniously as possible might help??

Ok folks, thanks.

Warhead's answer was best...  :vD
javelin's was most productive... :agree:
Markconz most inside.  8v)

Right zap (and mark), I'll get at that part again. :sigh:
I guess that the further parts of this can'treally be seen until that's made.

I love the idea, but it's hard enough to find time to get a game in lately.

*realises it will only take a moment*

*goes away and registers*

Hmmm. Does my opponent also need to be registered? I don't see any way to choose an unregistered opponent, and making an account for him just so I can report battles seems distinctly sockpuppetish.

That's the spirit oldie!  :agree:

As for un-registered opponents. Not everyone is online. In those cases you have to take care of it yourself, with a note to info#alfakta!org about it.
As for "the possibility to mis-manage" things are IP-booked.

Ok, cool. Will post my last game now. (My eldar creamed by marines - I forgot about thunderhawks and only took firestorms for AA. Big mistake.)

Edit: that was painless, and I bet it'll be a lot more interesting to see how it shapes up when I have a stake in it.

Hena ~ If you play them regularly it might be worth to get them over there. If for nothing else it gives another reason to do battle ("Hey, those pesky hoomies are going to take that planet if us orkylizzyspinky boyz dundo 'amting!")

But you also bring up one of my reasons for this project.
A group of two or three isn't uncommon, but hard for them to raise the stakes to a full fledged campaign. This way it's possible.

And with some input on how people believe that could work we can step forward.
(I've already done some very minor changes to the site. Especially opened a, so far unwritten, page about factions. Something Battletech players need...)

blackhorizon ~ Yours was the one I had to really think about.

Warseer's Firebase is out, not because not gamers. But because 40k carry their own (and would swamp this exact endevour if they came there).

Warp Rift, on the other hand, is another the place to talk about it. A great deal to write up for me and my energy is quite low.
Would you be interested in making it into an MSN-interview instead perhaps? Or maybe Ventrilo?
