I do not recall the figures smelling bad. I have been adding highlights to the paint jobs, mainly to the faces and armour. So I have had them resonably close and do not recall them smelling odd.

Neat, thanks for the answer.

Thanks for the pics. They are nice, but I prefer to do my own paint jobs. I might go for a Golgoth and repaint it, though.

Wraethu/Audrey, thanks for your thoughts on this set!  I didn't realise the Wraith Golgoth could be removed from that 'post', and I certainly didn't realise the White Stars troopers had pivoting waists! :D

You're right about the painting, it is perfectly acceptable for the table-top, and I too plan to add some washes/highlights to improve the over-all standard.

The miniautres themselves are great, my only quibble is that it is nigh on impossible to tell Therian Storm Golem Leaders from the normal Storm Golems... ???

The rules themselves, I like the way they're set out as missions which allow you to get to grips with the rules bit by bit.  My favourite feature of this rule-set is the 'corridor of fire' idea; you have to be careful how you position your squads as you might end up shooting soldiers!

On the otherhand, I have experienced one particular grey area: I can't tell if, after a rush move which has a squad end up in combat distance (within 2.5cm of miniatures from another squad), they can then do combat: the rush move is moving without shooting, but it doesn't say anything about not being able to assault!

I'm looking forward to seening what else is released for this game, I'll definitely expand the core armies in the box.

The Storm Golem leaders have the "spark plug" piece on their back. Not sure of a better way to describe it. You can see it in the image below.

All the other Storm Golems have the ?V shape on their back. You could also paint some marking on their head or paint the mask another color.

I have considered giving my UNA leaders visible markings on the back of their helmet/cap and/or shoulder armour.

I have to admit that as a serious power armour "nerd" I'm really looking forward to the White Star Tac-Armour troopers:

Curse you, demons of temptation!

And the WWII aircrew leather helmet style looks good! Replace the weapon with a 1930s weapon and....    :D

Ha!  :D  Yeah, I thinik it was that picture which sold me the game to begin with.

Audrey, thanks for pointing out the Storm Golem leaders, I'd not noticed the 'spark plug'...
