Have you ever played world of tanks?
Sometimes you gotta be close to do damage.
Also you need cover.
These principles hold true for AT.

This is a first try for the battlefield :

80 x 120cm
Mac Miniatures Roads (sections of 60cm) and Space Marine buildings.

Do you think that I should add more buildings ?

Another question : would you allow pre-measuring ?

Looks fine to me. I always used a fairly symmetrical set up when playing AT so as not to give one side an advantage.

Banning pre-measuring is something I did for decades. It was only recently when we had a big discussion on here that I started allowing it. A soldier explained to us that they have sights on their guns that tell them the range to a target. If that technology is available now, it seemed absurd that they would not have that 38,000 years in the future. There's not really a wrong answer though, if you'd rather not allow pre-measuring then don't.

This is exactly what we are looking for. :)

Your feedback is interesting. Do you think that I should warn the players about the risk of the close assault titans ?

The pre-planned Titans could be a good idea too. I'll think about that option with the co-organizer of the battle.

Merci. :)

Well only warn your crew about arming with close assault weapons if you want to play it as we do ... Titans packing range weapons on all hard points/mounts ... And yes, we like our standardized Titans concept ... We see Titans as mobile heavy support gun platforms ... in support of the ground forces ... not the other way around. Here's pics of some of my Titans ... just FYI - http://s9.photobucket.com/user/23skdu/l ... 9505161368

Hi everyone,

We have played our Adeptus Titanicus battle last saturday and it was very fun. Of course AT is not EA but it can be funny to play some games from time to time.

You can read the battle report on epic_fr. It is in French but don't worry there are pictures too... ;D

Thank you everyone for your help !

Hi!

Wonderful!

Did the games go well and was the feedback helpful?

We have only played one game (11 undisciplined players) but the game went well.

The feedback was essential : size of the battlefield, budget, CC weapons, etc.

We plan to make some more games from time to time and to incorporate an Adeptus Titanicus battle during the Codex Lugdunum.

Hi!

As long as they had fun, its all that matters.

I remember well, when I used to run stuff like that, talking and socializing in more than half the time spent!
