I know I'm a little late in the thread here, but I've bought my 11 yr old and 9 yr old sons Heroscape and Star Wars Miniatures Battles. While the rules aren't necessarily ideal, they do provide some basic tactical decision making. I'm looking at later when they're older, we can use the minis for other games. Especially the Star Wars ones.
