Msn = satan.
Ventrilo = ?

I was more thinking of a page with a cool graphic and some inspiring intro words and a linky link to your site.

But an interview-ish thing would be cool too. Though I wouldn't know what to ask. Maybe someone else will do it?

IMO, if players are going to be involved in a campaign, knowing why they're fighting, what/who they're fighting, what the stakes are for their forces/races, and other things along these lines might make it more interesting for the participants, and those thinking about jumping in. A little fluff goes a long way - having a map and the promise of prize support doesn't motivate everyone, ya know.  :;):

Hey Erik, if you need someone to do the fluff intro I'm quite willing to help out if you have an idea what you want. You can probably do it yourself but the offers there ol' chap.

blackhorizon ~ It sound as fun. And could be the start of a new standing feature even perhaps?
And including the BFG'ers is a thing to do. Spaceship battles is a part of Alfakta.
The ideal fight for a planet starts with a battle for space, then for air and last the actual land assault.

KaJo ~ Indeed. Part of which is there. The prize system is however laid up so that you can't know exactly. But this is something I want to change. I want a way to "book" a certain battle.

Warhead ~ You know what's it all about. So if you would like to work on the front page I'd be more than happy!

Perhaps setting a specific scenario type to be played during a finite time period might be a step in that direction?

KaJo ~ That's the way it's prepared to be. Right now it conflicts somewhat with the prize giving part thou. But it might be changed to accommodate both.

If someone would like to run a mini-campaign within the present one, over a specific set of planets, it's just to write me a note and we'll work it out.

It's quite a bit less confusing to new players now, I would think, because of the faction page.

Thanks old~. I hope to be on track again and with maybe my personal programmer and definitely with my "ghostie" I hope we'll all bring it all up on top.

Good news.

There's quite a lot in the making now.
The Alfakta 2 (A2) is planned and worked on.
It will have features like:
* Basic economy (to decide "winner").
* Simple movement (warp to - attack).
* Faction specific players and...
* ...Faction specific forums.
* "Booked" fights (know where you fight).

This mean that you sign up for a specific faction and fight for it during a campaign's duration.
The faction has income in accordance to what planets they have and mounting an attack cost "megacredits" (M€). Most M€ in the end wins!

Ah yes, different planets will be worth differently.
Plain (food), Wood (energy), Mountain (minerals) and Forge (factory) are by themselves worthless.
In three's the three first are worth 3M€ and that with a forgeworld gives an additional 2M€.
A Megapolis is always worth 1M€, together with the above it's an additional 1M€.

When game start each faction has:
Plain + Wood + Mountain + Forge + Megapolis = 3+2+1+1 = 7 and
Plain + Wood + Mountain = 3, a total of 10M€.
Each attack cost 3M€, make them worth it!
(No, a faction can not go bankrupt. There's always willing "risk venture groups".)

Each round takes a week. During that time you may attack each opponent once. Yes, if it's just you and your buddy you can attack each other one time, giving you two battles.
A booked but not reported battle is the same as a drawn battle, the attacker is beaten back.

How's that?

Erik

...can we spend Mega Credits to better our armies. Like experience points and such for our units abilities? (Providing it's the army that earned the points that gets the points spent on it) There's nothing like seeing your army get better and better.

Titan Skills, Veteran abilities, better morale?

A new Dawn on Alfakta...

A group hiring a specific A2 "room" could put such up.
Personally I've found that things that influence the battlefield is perhaps not that good to have. The one winning gets a winning streak...

Ah yes, "A2 Room". That's the bottom line of this project really. To give the usual campaign organizer some leeway and opportunity to participate on equal terms.
Ie A2 is made to allow people to run their own campaign with this engine.
