My favorite Kurita scheme is the Ryuken Regiments

Ryuken

I just love the Dark Grey.

Good luck with whaever you choose.

Indeed I was looking at the Ryuken-yon Regiment with the dark grey abnd blue highlights, but Ive painted so many things grey over the years I find it a bit dull now.  Plus Kurita has always meant bright red to me.  Be happy - it makes them easier for your Davion Mechs to find them!  :vD

There was also a mass combat rules in Australia set called BattleLance wher each lance fought together and Mech were basically given a defence value and hit points.  must try to find that...

Cheers!

FASA was using those designs without licence from a series of Japanese anime companies and were sued. So they can't use the art, minis or anything based off of them.

Hi Tas

PG has already given brief summary and CC has provided link to thread on official forums where give a great detailed explanation.

The thing to remember is that all of the Project Phoenix mechs were inlcuded in the new TRO 3039 (which incorporated old TRO 3025 & 3026). Thus all of the mechs you mnetioned are fully playable in CBT with itial variants all still around plus additional variants in the 3050's & 3060's.

Iron Wind Metals has released some new models (the Reseens) to match the updated Project Phoenix design revamp. I personally prefer most of these resculpts to the older designs with exception of Warhammer and Crusader, where older designs are better. But you can use either older unseen scuplts or newer reseen scuplts to represent these classic mechs.

The only resrtiction has been that FASA/Fanpro/Catalyst could not use the old artwork in their official publications and none of the old unseen scuplts are featured on Camo specs.

In a game I played a couple of weeks back we both fielded Marauder, Warhammer and Archer, all using the old unseen scuplts.

So all of your old figures are fully useable, even in official Catalyst tournaments. You can post pictures of your painted figures on the official CBT forums. You just wont be able to submit pictures on Camo specs.

Cheers

James

Right - got it!  I had no idea all that had occured in the meantime.  Good to know my old fav mechs can still be used (to be honest I would have anyway), it will just be a bit harder replacing them in my gaming stash

Thanks to all - I appreciate the explanations and link  :agree:

In the meantime, I found some more inspiration and great terrain setups here:
