Gday all, Im fairly new to the site (but dont hold that against me),but I'd like to let everyone know about the Nationwide epic campaign that some of us are running down here.

I'll run through the basic idea and then you can put up a response:

The idea is that there will be a single continent, roughly looking like Oz, it will have 8 locations/ cities.

There will be 3 teams: The Good (SM's, IG, etc), The bad (Chaos, Eldar, etc), and the Ugly (Orks, Nids).

Players who want to play will put there state location in (Eg: WA, NSW) and will be apart of that areas games points pool.

Players will play their battles as normal and then post the wins on a site, these points will go towards that particular team controlling their area.

At the end of an unspecified time (dont know how long yet...), the winning teams will be announced for each area and the overall team winner will be announced for the campaign.

Ive already been asked by a couple of people to look at expanding the campaign to include BFG as well, so it could grow into a much larger campaign, we'll see.

So there you have it, most of the ground work has been done, Im now just looking to see if theres enough interested people to see if this sorta thing will work.

Let me know what you guys all think

I have registered - don't know about my compadres in the area but they were keen when i mentioned it to them when this first came up on wargamerau.

While i would love to birng BFG into this i dont have a fleet for any of the epic armies i field. But i think the concept is sound give a bonus or something for the race/side whose fleet is currently dominating the space lanes bringing supplies to the planet.

Are there any 'event cards' planned for during the campaign?  Something that can happen that may affect the continent as a whole or a specific race/side.

Do you envisage a points limit on games? I know we prefer larger games (6000+ points) but we do acknowledge that the system is not designed with games this large in mind.

PS i've decided finally to play my imp guard.

I actually dont own any BFG (due to the fact that Im supplying all the Epic stuff ATM and now have no $$ :D ), so Im not too sure about how to add this in yet. But Mark mentioned bringing it in so Im hoping that he'll be able to help (any ideas when we get that far would be great).

As far as the having the right BFG army to suit the Epic armies that you have, you dont need to worry as the campaign was designed so that you play games and not armies, so use whatever you want for Epic (and BFG when it comes).

Hadnt thought of event cards, but it sounds like a great idea. Will PM you for more ideas.

Points size, you can play whatever you feel, just let me know the victory points and I'll put em up :D

The idea we have over here in Perth with combining the systems is that their would potentially be different players playing the different systems.  I am hoping to run of series of SG events each year being an Epic tournament, BFG tournament and a multisystem narative campaign weekend event which will involve players playing in all the different systems for one of the three teams in this campaign.  I don't know if the narative campaign might be better suited to a battle for control of a nearby planet involved in the supply chain or some such so it can have a very definite resault.

Happy to try and think of ways to get BFG into the main campaign after I get back from Epic Assault and the 6 week world trip I am leaving on a couple of days after.

I'm quite happy to see this campaign world continue to grow and would love to see any ideas that people have for this.

Ive been talking with Hazpak and Shotgun about some ideas of an event card system, that may be either cards handed out OR events that affect the campaign in some way.

The whole campaign is just a constant work in progress   :D

My gaming buddy and I would be keen on participating. We might even be able to help Tas out with a few games in Canberra...
