According to Star-Ranger.com the complete Cold Navy Intellectual Property is for sale. So anyone with money can have his own line..... (could a mod edit the thread title pleasy?) |

Saw the note on their own website. Wants to sell it to someone, but I wonder about the viability of someone buying it outright. dafrca |

Its got a LOT of potential that range. I really like the minis - a nice blend between anime and FT grittiness |

I was actually planning on enquiring about purchasing the line myself but he appears to have a buyer lined up already. The one down side to the line right now is theres no rule set and/or "official" setting to tie the miniatures to... I suspect sales of the minis have been a bit poorer than they could be because of that. |

I don't know if the lack of rules hurt the line. I think he did a great job keeping the minis open to all rules. The minis were some of the best ships out there and the only reason why I didn't buy more was a large BFG collection sitting at home. The rules sometimes get in the way of great minis. CAV for example had great rminins but subpar rules. |

I understand what your saying CC but I think not being able to "brand" your miniature line results in even worse sales than a sub-par rules set. To use your example of CAV even though the miniatures are light years ahead of Iron Wind's Battletech figs maybe 1 in 50 Battletech player's will use them as they're not canon minis. CN strikes me as being in much the same boat as CAV... great miniatures but really the ####### child no one loves because they don't specifically fit in to something established. |

Very nice figures indeed. The only reason that I have n't bought any so far is they had n't released the bulk of the range- I like to see all of the ships before buy a complete fleet. Mind you if I had seen them at gaming show I would have bought them anyway. But as US company I had n't seen any UK distributors offering them for sale, so put off my order. I will still buy some from whoever picks up the range. They are nice minis and will go fine for either Full Thrust or StarmadaX. Spaceships are a bit like Super-Heavy Tanks- you can never have enough of them!! ![]() ![]() Cheers James |

Maybe I missed something, but didn't they tie themselves to the Starmada Rules and even do a rule book with their background, fluff, and specs? dafrca |

There is a rumour that Majestic 12 Games are in the running for this. It would be very nice to bring them into the fold. This also came as a pleasant surprise to me! |

I have been told that guys behind Void managed to do potentially shady deals a couple of times with the way that closed down companies and thus got out of paying creditors. The once I could undertsand as being accidental, a socond time more dubious, If this is a 3rd time...... Luckliy for my wallet Void's figures never really appealed apart from a few individual pieces. I did n't find them the most helpful when I spoke to them at Salute. So I won't be rushing out to buy any of their figures anytime soon. But for those of you who do like Void figures let's hope that this new business venture works out and that they are producing new figures for years to come. Cheers James |

Hopefully this would mean that Brigade Models will be their UK distributors given the close links between MJ12 Games & Brigade over StarmadaX. Given how helpfl the guys are at Brigade I would definitely be buying some Cold Navy ships if they stocked them. Cheers James |
